Need more love for one hand sword

iMC please made a class with One-handed Sword Requirements only .
You have rapier-fencer. Spear-dragoon,lancer, 2hand sword-doppel
Why dont have class with one hand sword only or dual sword like kirito. Whyyyyyy

I also feel like 1h swords are really lackluster. The only class that truly uses them are Hackapells.

Using a 1h sword on a swordman is like gimping yourself. 1h Spears are better at simply everything since they have more base atk than 1h swords.

At least they should give 1h swords a base stat like +defense or something like that.

What are you talking about I got 2 clerics that use 1H Sw…oh!

Joke aside…

Why limit a class to 1h only?_?

1HS is the base of swordsmanship…

I think it’s because if they released a new SM class that doesn’t have any weapon limitations, no one would go ‘X’ Class with a sword and will go with the meta 1H SPEAR instead because of this reason:

So, I am pretty sure OP would like to see end game Swordies with a built up Sword instead of a Pike / 2 Hand / Spear. I think a Sword Weapon Revamp would be good too.

We need a really swordman class beside doppel

IMO, base class should be Warrior instead of Swordsman.

OP watches too much anime I think lol. Most MCs uses 1h sword techniques (no shield, sub weapon).

Not only Sword but mace also needs an overhaul, both weapons aren’t really attractive since they are weaker and don’t have any special properties (either basic or through attributes).

To add to this problem, the defence difference between shield and 2handed weapon was trivialized with Peltatsta C2 buff, so there is even less reason to go for a onehanded weapon now that isn’t spear.

Also, there are not enough skill restrictions to justify onehanded weapon use, e.g. for sword you get Deadly Combo, an aweful skill which requires Squire 3 to learn.

IMO all those skill weapon requirements in the swordsman tree should be removed, and instead be replaced with a damage malus if the weapon you have equipped does not match with the skill damage type(e.g. Mordschlag dealing 30-50% less damage if used with a sword/spear instead of a mace, Stabbing dealing 30-50% less damage if used with a sword/mace instead of spear/rapier, etc.).

This would offer more build options while still giving the original weapon proficiency of the Class an advantage when it comes to performance.

Of course, the weapons also need a buff,
mace and sword should get closer to spear in terms of damage,
changing spear to have a smaller attack range than sword and less maximum attack power, but higher average attack power,
and mace having just a single attack value which should be ~ equal to the swords lowest attack value + some bonus, because maces are all around the most effective weapon type (unless the enemy is a naked human/human without armor) when it comes to a real battle situation.

What TOS lacks is farsight and good balancing of armor types, too.
In the beginning we had a nice attack malus for attack types that didn’t match the weakness of armor types.
Why did this cool system get removed/nerfed, so that there is no longer an attack malus?

This is pretty stupid.
It would’ve been better to keep the malus and build up the balance around it, especially by expanding ghost malus to every attack type that is not magic. This would’ve been a much better system than building sponges and power creeping with strong attacks&weapon types that have no cons, only pros.

I agree, builds (at the very least for swordsman) would be more diverse this way. I wanted my Fencer to just wield Rapier but its just wasteful not to wear any sub weapon.
