Need help with timezone EST to GMT+8

I’m a little confused with the results from google… Can someone tell me if EST is 12hours behind GMT+8?

Currently EST is the equivalent to GMT-4 so that is indeed correct.
But use the link that @zakler2k9 provided, that would give you a better understanding and an easier way to compare timezones.
