Need Help with my Highlander

Hello, I’m a casual player and I would like to ask for some advice regarding my two-handed c3 Highlander(lvl109). This is my current skill point allocation http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/rxadfzckw3/ and my stat allocation is 3:1:1 str/con/dex

  1. I can’t decide where to put my remaining 5 points in my highlander circle and I’m having trouble on deciding which class to pick on rank 5
  2. I plan on going Doppelsoeldner for my rank 6 and 7
  3. I want to focus primarily on PVE but I have no idea which skills are good at higher levels.
  4. Could you give me advice on what attributes i should focus on. I have currently maxed plate mastery, provoke, bash knockdown, concentrate enhance, and Gung Ho enhance.
  5. What items should I farm/buy?

Thank you

wagon well 1, cata stroke 3, moulinet 1. and u go barbarian so u get the cleave debuff that increase 100% slash damage on enemies

Is moulinet good? especially with just 1 point? I wasn’t aware that cleave gave a debuff. Does it work on boss and how long does the debuff last?

put 3/5 bash and 2/5 pain barrier you will need PB as doppel

Cross Cut does okay for 1 point, you can spend more on moulinet / cross guard

Cartar is strong 1-3

its good enough, at least 1 point, also do like Lostac said, cross cut only need 1 point for bleed. u can max moulinet or cross guard. right now i duno whats better, but i think later on cross guard will be better maxed, and moulinet only 1 point

i’m coming back to the game today, after some months without playing. and i hope we get some more buffs to swordsman
specialy to highlander

Looks like I need a skill reset potion as I have already allocated 5 points in bash :sob:

Also how good is barb c1 compared to Swordsman c2? so far I’m liking concentrate and Gung Ho but the hit count of concentrate seems really bad at lvl 5. But they seem to lose effectiveness as my level increases

Welcome back to the game
I’m considering adding more points into cross guard as it might help me survive the higher levels. Is wagon wheel useful in PVE?

one more knock down is always usefull, u have 3 bash, 1 wagon and later 2 mordcharg. monster cant hit u if they are down, so it help, specialy agaisnt magic ones, u just rush in and knockdown.

barbarian 1 i a must for any doppel (in my opinion).

they could increase base dmg of skyliner, or give it 2 more overheats, this would help highlanders a lot

Thanks for the replies. Could anyone give me a reason why Pain Barrier is necessary for Doppel?

If you get knocked down when you’re using cyclone, cyclone ends.

It seems that I would either need to use a skill reset potion or go c2 swordsman to acquire Pain barrier. Question is barb c1 so much better than swordsman 2? If yes, then I have no choice but to use a skill reset potion :expressionless:

Damage wise, Barb 1 gives you 4 damage skills, embowel and stomping kick are a little underwhelming at the moment unless you use some shenanigans. Helm splitter give you a good strike skill (not as good as cartar imo), it also stuns the target which lets cleave do x2.5 its normal damage which is also nice. However with the new update, cleave inflicts a slash weakness debuff that lasts 5 seconds where all slash attacks do more damage. So that’s cyclone, skyliner, vertical slash, redel, zucken, ect.

On the other hand with swordman 2, Bash gets an AOE Attack increase attribute, the same as the wagon wheel one at highlander 2. Restrain can be useful with cyclone or any move that is a large multihit against mobs, the stun doesn’t last very long apparently, however it’s mostly used for pvp purposes. A new attribute for thrust will inflict bleed on a stunned target. Pommel beat isn’t really a strong strike move but it has a lowish cd with 3 overheat (then again so does cleave).

So imo barb1 will give you more damage simply because of the cleave debuff, while swordsman 2 will give you more utility against mobs / lvl 10 pain barrier. If you really want barb1, I’d just make another character, the road to 100 is not that bad, your current character can help increase your team level and the grind has yet to start. Unless of course you want to spend money on it. You’ve spend about 500,000 silver on your character maybe? You’ll get a lot more than that later on and the damage enhance attributes are much more expensive.

However in your end it’s your character, and your choice. (Apologies for the wall of text)

Thank you for the detailed reply. I have a much better understanding on the pros of swordsman 2 and Barb c1. Barb c1 might work better with the path I’m going. Too bad I failed to put points in pain barrier which will require me to use a skill reset. Reason I don’t want to reroll another character is that I just bought the Highlander c3 costume yesterday. If it wasn’t for that costume purchase I would probably just reroll my character :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Correct me if I’m wrong, but that should be transferable through team storage.

I just checked it out right now and it’s transferable! Thank you for sharing this information with me. Saves me from having to purchase a skill reset potion.

Also if you have any idea on a good sw1 > Highlander 3 > barb c1 > doppel c2 build for pve it could really help me in the future

I could make one real quick but it really depends on preference, some people like to simply increase damage skills, while others prefer utility skills maxed. Some people save points to see if the next ktos patch will arrive or not. Also some skills work better with different stat distributions. Which would you prefer or would you rather have a skeletal one with points to spare.

I think I would have a skeletal one with points to spare since I believe rank 8 will be coming soon anyway. I just prefer a good/decent PVE build for solo/party play. I don’t need a min/max build just a one that functions properly. Thank you

As you can see every skill has at least 1 point so if you ever need anything or if something gets buffed it’s there. Where necessary I’ve added a couple points so that the attributes are available, apart from cross guard as if you successfully block an attack, that +50 def does nothing. I’ve maxed Deeds of Valor although that is really just personal preference, sorry I couldn’t resist, put as many points as you think you’d be comfortable with there. The only thing here that I’d consider maxing no matter what would be cyclone as it increases its duration as well as its damage.

Thank you for taking the time to give me advice on my build
