Need Help w/ a Rodelero Build

Hi.

So I wanted to try making a Swordsman and I know Rodeleros are
considered bad, but I want to make a Rodelero 3 because I just like the
idea of using shield attacks. My plan was to go
Sword3>Rode3>Corsair for PvP. Now all of my friends are playing
and I kind of just want to build one for PvE, despite the chances that
it will suck later on…

So far I have Sw1>Pelt1>?>Rode3>Fencer. I need help deciding on a
Rank 3 and Rank 7 choice. What do you guys think would fit best here?
Pelt2, Barb1, or Hoplite1 for Rank 3? Also I’ve heard guys tell me to go Hoplite and then Doppel or Dragoon. Does that lock me into using only a spear?

Rodolero is a class that is almost certainly going to be buffed sometime, I say if you like the shield combo, go ahead and play it. I personally took Peltasta 2 for High Guard, barb 1 is almost negligible but can be taken if you want a more dps orented character. Hoplite C1 is not recommended since it does not synergize with Fencing.
