Need help for Swordsman build

My intention is use it for general pve and farm, but i dont see the advantages of hoplite instead sw3 barb… And a important point is that i have not too much silver to waste on weapon and etc, so between these 3, which will be better?

You could also use Serpentine>Double slash/Dragon soar.
(its +50% physical dmg aswell)

The Point on Hop/pelt build is block and swash.
Cleaning waves with Dethrone/Dragontooth is a bit tricky and you have to jump around a bit ^^

In the end swordy cls always will need more investment.

But i will switch doppel to corsair soon for pvp.
(thats why my build is with 200+ Con)

Hop 3 is not so strong atm but it will be very worth it after rebalance.

Stabbing lv 15 after rebalance will have 7225% skill factor over 25 hits. This goes up to 10837% with +50% bonus from Spear Lunge, and to 14450% with Serpentine’s debuff (another +50%).

Pierce lv 15 after rebalance will have 2412% skill factor on boss monsters on each overheat. This becomes 3618% with Spear Lunge +50% and 5306% if you also add Serpentine (which adds +70% damage instead of +50% specifically for Pierce). This sums up to 10612% on both overheats. Boss needs to be under shock debuff tho, which Dragon Soar may inflict with attribute.

And if bossing isn’t your thing, Long Stride will receive up to +100% damage depending on your inventory weight (1% weight = 1% more dmg), get cd reduced to only 30 sec, and increase both in amount of targets hit (from 5 to 10) and skill AoE range. Assuming you’ll be with 90% inventory weight, this means 1284% factor on each mob hit, summing up to 12840% total damage per overheat if you hit all 10 mobs!

Swordman 3 gives you Pain Barrier lv 15 (which is nice, can’t argue with that) and Double Slash, which is kind of okay but nothing amazing without shinobi clones to copy. Double Slash deals 1368% on enemies with both Cleave debuff (+50% slash dmg) and considering a critical hit from the attribute (per overheat).

Dragon Soar deals 4275% factor w/Helm but without Cleave and 5700% with both Helm and Cleave. If you consider Helm + Serpentine, that’s 5700% without Cleave and 7125% with Cleave. If you consider Dragon Soar is getting 3 overheats, thats ( 7125 - 5700) * 3 = 4275% total damage loss for not having Cleave for your 3 Dragon Soar uses. If we are talking about killing bosses, that barely scratches the ~24 000% skill factor you can get from both Stabbing + Pierce.

I’m not taking DoV lv 5 into consideration, but it’s not going to change much since DoV is also group 2 bonus damage and it doesn’t even have 100% uptime on it (very annoying to recast, btw).

TL;DR:
Hop 3 is weak now in comparison with Sw3 Barb1, but it’ll be much, much, much stronger than the second option once the rebalance hits us.

And do you think it is (or will be) better than sw3 hl2 dopp3 shinobi for pve in general? I’m not focusing in bossing, just doing daily dungeons, farming some stuff and etc, and i didn’t like the shinobi playstyle too much… I know shinobi will Always be a better option to kill bosses, but i don’t care about hunting bosses hehe

They’re very different builds, doppel 3 and dragoon 3 are both very strong.

I actually have both these swordmen, one sw 3 hl 2 doppel 3 shinobi and one pelta 2 hop 3 dragoon 3. I tend to slightly prefer the doppel (my personal opinion, tho) because the dragoon has too few skills for it’s rotation. After using Dragon Fall and Dethrone, you have basically no other good AoE skill to use. That makes dragoon slightly more frustrating to play with, having to always wait on some skill cooldown.

Doppel 3, on the other hand, has a ton of different skills, you’ll rarely be walking around doing nothing or doing basic attacks. Doppels don’t have Dragon Fall, which tbh is very strong, but they do have Cyclone + Clones + Punish which make them deal more than decent AoE dmg in a good area.

Doppel 3 is very squishy, tho, and I really mean it. Taking +19% damage from DoV 15, another +50% from bushin lv 5, and the fact you don’t use shields, makes things really intense when doing a challenge mode lv 5, for example. Dragoon 3 feels super safe to play with, it has tons of block and it can even keep some distance from enemies when using skills like Gae Bulg or Dethrone.

If you don’t like shinobi, there’s not much to think about. Just pick dragoon.

After the hoplite rebalance I feel like Dragoons will be slightly better in terms of skill rotation.

In that case i think i’ll level up another character to turn into dragoon 3, because in my doppel i have something about 17 or 18kk invested in atributes and this is a big quantity of silver to me T-T
