Need Advise on Build: Barb 1 vs Corsair 1

Hi,
As the title suggest I am in doubt about what of this two I will take.

I’m doing a Templar of 2 HandedSword. Following the build:

S> Peltasta1 > Highlander 1 > Highlander 2 > Rank 5 ? > Doppel > Templar.

Since my focus is PVP, what I can use on Rank 5, between Barb1 and Corsair?

The most special skill of Barbarian C1 is the skill Helm Chopper that causes Stun for 2 seconds more or less. That for now is easily avoided by Dispeller.

But I want corsair Because the Iron Hook, that for me is the best debuff of swordsman on enemies in PVP, even more when “take numerous enemies” is enabled.

What do you think?

I’m taking peltasta only because the archers, since CrossGuard of Highlander is not so effective, is not even because the “Provoke”.
No, I dont like Cataph, even if is more effective for a templar.

I think corsair is only worth C2 for Double Weapon Assault and its not good with 2Hand Sword
I would go High C1 and Bard C3 For frenezy
Frenezy + Deeds of valor will give you a great boost…

Corsairs Iron Hook is better than anything Barbarian gets at C1 for PvP.

Simple as that.

In some respects, maybe. The bleed combo from Highlander 2 is definitely on par if not better in PvP than Barbarians stun combos and Seism. Honestly, I think Highlander is more PvP oriented than Barbarian.

In the end, neither is good when Plague Doctors are around.

Wait a minute, you want to PvP with a TEMPLAR and a Peltasta on your build with a two handed sword on That’s probably the worst combination possible for pvp swordie.

But answering your question, sure, Barbarian1 to take Helm Chopper for that only stun skill you’ll have on your build, might work.

Oh right, another option: Highlander 3. Skull Swings defense debuff is really nice, and you can get Sky Liner and Cross Cut 10.

That’s a much better option for him. Get his opponent staggered by Cross Guard apply Skull swings and combo Crosscut + Skyliner to finish.

I will try to argue in some points:

Gladly I always find people on the game that like to test their skills, while I can test mine too.
I agree, but I did lots of tests with Highlander C2 CrossGuard, and this dont worked for me, maybe because the lag/delay, the debuff on the enemy dont help me much. I had problems even to run away from the archers even when they get paralised.
So I did lots of test with peltasta and it work very fine, even with 2 archers throwing every skill on me and no debuff (so I can swap to Sword, use CrossGuard and take less damage), that is the plan.
So, my focus with the Peltasta is not when I want to attack, but as a mean to survive while the countdown of the skills are running, specially Cyclone.

Highlander C3 is very dificult to find, but I finded one time ago and I dont saw much relevance on this skill. BUT I was thinking about that too, everyday I will enter just to search for Highlander C3 and gets to the final conclusion.

I have a Highlander C2 that I was about to test, but since is better see people testing on me, so I can see the change of stats, instead continue to C3 or delete, I will make a Squire to earn some money.

I like to play more with what I like on the animation than how much is effective, and highlander is much more PVP oriented than PvE. So even with Barb having nice debuffs, the high effective is on PvE.
I see Highlander class more as an Debuff class, than a damage class.
Other reason, as I mentioned, I really feel animated when I use the Skills of high C2 like Moulinet/Skyliner than using the Barb skills. So, yes, is because the appearance and debuffs.

Corsair gives you a party buff - a chance for more silver, a chance to get an extra item from a mob, including a boss cube and a chance to be immune to an attack with the attribute. I think it’s worth it just for this utility.
