Hi! I’m starting now, and decided I wanna play as a Swordsman. Barbarian and Murmillo seems cool classes to me. I like playing as tank, but not so much as a pure DPS. Also, didn’t like Shinobi that much, and I noticed a lot of Murmillo builds for for a rank in that class. Do you guys think a Swordsman 1/Peltasta 1/Barbarian 2/Rodelero 3/Murmillo is a viable build for PvE in a party? I don’t know how late game content feels like, so I’d like some advice. Should I go for full tank (like, Peltasta 3/Rodelero 3) for a Murmillo? Really’d like to keep those Barbarian ranks, if viable… thanks!
You can pick Barbarian for a murmillo, but it won’t be as good as other classes that benefit off Murmillo’s Cassis Crista attributes.
If you want a strong and reliable Murmillo build, stick with any combination of Peltasta / Hoplite / Rodelero / Shinobi. You can make literally any combination with these classes and you’ll still perform great.
Some more tips:

Peltasta 3 Hoplite 3 is the tankiest murmillo build. It has good block rate with Finestra and nearly physical immunity for 30 sec if you have both Finestra and High Guard maxed. Lacks on AoE skills but deals very high damage with Synchro Thrust and Umbro Thrust. Note that being “tanky” does not mean you deal bad damage, a Murmillo with this build is still much stronger in terms of dps than a Dragoon C2 with any possible build (note: I’m not considering rank 9).

Peltasta 3 Rodelero 3 is the most dps build (without Shinobi). Shinobi adds a lot of burst damage, great for killing bosses, but i’m not a big fan of the class, either. Rodeleros have better AoE skills (Targe Smash, Shield Bash) than Hoplite 3, but lacks on Finestra to give you the extra block rate.

Other combinations, such as Pelta 1 Hoplite 2 Rodelero 3, still work great, having their own pros and cons. Basically, everytime you pick Hoplite over Rodelero, you’re exchanging offensiveness for defensiveness.

Shinobi is not essential. You can deal good damage without Shinobi, but obviously you have less burst dps.
