Have a lot of problems right now with new players joining the game completely fresh and following the main story. Getting to Tenet Garden which is a laggy mess and running themselves out of XP cards. Seeing some buggy and confusing quests mainly the Severed Demon Quest in the previous zone(confusing) and Demon Portal Quest which doesn’t work most of the time(buggy). And then they’re hitting an EXP wall because they don’t understand that there is parallel content with Orsha and they’ve been slamming XP cards as they get them. They think they are playing something that’s completely linear because the story quest has been driving them forward.
How to fix?
Elligant solution is just to give them a Quest maybe even main story quest to goto Orsha with a scroll and goto a Parallel zone before Tenet garden. This will introduce the player to the idea of a world that is not linear. And it will stop players from bottle necking in that one zone, and running themselves out of XP through quests before really getting into the game.
But just introducing players to the idea of something that is core to playing ToS effectively and having fun is important. It’s hand-holdy but some people need that… Some players do just go with the flow and need direction and in this day and age we kind of need to accommodate them or at least give them a heads up. ToS is a very research and learning heavy game which puts off a huge population of players. But with a few simple changes you can increase the accessibility without doing any harm.
