i know there are some similar posts out there but i want to be sure! the thing is that i currently have a swordman C2 barb C2 corsair C1 and i was planning to go corsair 2 and doppler in rank 7… i know i miss the peltasta and that later on it will be important for us swordies to have the swashbuckling skill but i cant turn back time 
can i make this up? maybe sacrificing 1 rank of corsair ? or my build is viable the way it was planed? i need some advice guys i dont want to play a char and be useless later on … TY in advance
You can survive without Swashbuckling.
And if you don’t like it, it’s not like it takes 10 years to get to max level in this game. You probably can get to max level in a month.
I’m planning on going the same kind of build, OP (Fencer instead of Dopple). Going Peltasta for just one skill felt like a wasted Rank, to me.
if you got all the way to C5 without AoEing mobs, then that build is working just fine for you
If you haven’t made the character yet, I’d seriously suggest taking peltasta over swordie2. I made a swordie without peltasta in kToS, and it was really annoying not being able to taunt, and not having access to block if I wanted it. We often would get parties for dungeons, and since I didn’t have taunt I wasn’t filling a role that was needed ( taunter, healer, linker ).
My swordie in iToS has taunt, and I will never go back to a taunt-less swordie. The ability to swap on a shield and block against bosses that spam knockdowns/pushes when pain barrier is down is invaluable. You do far more DPS simply because you’re not spending time on the ground, and you can keep the boss rooted in one place instead of chasing your flying body across the map.
There’s also simply the fact that swordie 2 offers little.
Character’s already made. Not remaking.
Not having a taunt isn’t really causing me problems and I’ll have enough DEX later on that bosses won’t be hitting as often, so manual block isn’t going to be a hindrance.
I didn’t make my character to be a tank, he’s made to stun and deal a lot of critical damage. That’s the goal, at least.
yeah that was my general idea too thats why i didnt pick pelt because he is a tank and i want to be DPS but ive been reading and thats the general concensus abaut the pelt…the thing is : it its worth it to sacrifice a corsair rank to get that pelt class or i should stay with my primary build?
No definitely not. Corsair is only really good at c2, taking it just c1 is a waste except for specific builds.
About Peltasta, taking a rank in him doesn’t make your character a tank, and you don’t need to tank. A DPS does far more damage by being able to pull mobs together and kill them all at once, rather than running around and hitting them one-by-one.
But, I only wanted to give my personal warning based on my experience playing to late game with a non-taunting swordie. I’m fully aware that people may not listen.
yeah i get your point and i know what im losing here i just wanted to know if i could be a good swordie with my current build later on
