My main class can be c1?

or new class is alway better ?

like class 7 lvl 1 is alway better then c1 lvl 3 ?

c1 is just usefull for xp ? nothing moar ?

I was exepting for alot of diversity and choice

but if c1 become to be useless

its very restricted…

I don’t think you understand the way the game progression is for classes with regards to this game.

When you say “main” class do you mean like you want to main Musketeer but that is a Class 7 and you want to use it right away at class 1?

This is too ambiguous, in most cases a Class 7 would out class a Class 1. But some higher rank Class only become stronger through synergy and stand alone comparison is kind of hard.

Yes that is the point of progression you increase in Level and change classes and your early stuff would fall off and become replace by your new abilities.

First off, just to make things clearer, the proper terminology in this case would be;
“like rank 7 circle 1 (i.e. r7 c1) is always better then rank 1 circle 3 (i.e. r1 c3)”

Rank 1 DPS skills are typically worse than Rank 7 DPS skills, but higher ranks are not “always” better. Most people treat the lower ranks as more “utility” ranks. You choose classes with skills that will compliment your DPS skills in later ranks.

Using Cleric as the obvious example, more Cleric circles means more Heal, more Safety Zone, which is incredibly useful in parties.

btw better or not it depend on what skill you’re looking for, if you’re looking for damage then yes, the higher rank the more damage you get from skill, but if you want lower rank class for their utility then feel free to do so :smiley:

For example C3 wizard have very powerful buff that decrease the cast time of all skills by half, so most elementalist or high cast time class will want to get that skill, enough to trade for damage from R2 and R3 classes, it take time and it’s boring at first, but once you get there it’s so damn satisfy.

You need to think of the Class tree as a list of skills, not classes.

A lot of Archers get to Archer C2 only to get the Kneeling Shot skill.
A lot also get to Archer C3 to max Swift Step.

Swift Step is an incredibly useful skill that will help your later ranks. But, if you were to only take Archer C1 and then took something like Ranger as Rank 2 and Sapper as Rank 3, you will most likely temporarily have higher DPS than an Archer C3, until you move onto Rank 4 and get new, even higher DPS skills.

And that Archer C3 now has Swift Step maxed which will improve the DPS of their Rank 4 class.

New classes are always better than the old/first ones. It sucks but that’s the way it is. Sometimes is worth to go C2 or C3 with some classes, but mostly don’t.

I actually like the way the classes are set up. It just takes some getting used to, because it is quite different from other games.

Most DPS skills are designed to fall off as you get new, better DPS skills. So DPS skills of the lower ranks are mainly used to help you get to your next Rank, or to use when your higher DPS skills are on cooldown.

You have to remember that Cannoneer and Musketeer are going to be reworked once Rank 8 and 9 are released, and you will see a lot less of them as other classes become more viable.

I have a feeling that, assuming there are 10 Ranks, ranks 8, 9, and 10 will all become balanced in terms of DPS and perfectly viable no matter what order you take them.

The thing is, even if they are cannoneer and musketeers, thier previous class choices most likely are different, so they could play much differently. Previous class choices make a huge difference.

Also, at cap you might see a C3 rogue or a C2 schwarzer reiter or something. I dont know much about the archer class, so i dont know how they compare to the other choices.

Don’t think of lower level classes as “useless” just because their DPS falls off later. Rather, you’re supposed to use their attacks as filler while other skills are in CD. Regardless of whether or not the higher rank skills will outdamage anything from the lower ones, just remember that CDs are a thing, and thus the lower rank abilities are there to supplement your attacks.
So stop whining and take a step back to look at everything contextually rather than focusing on one aspect of the class system.

Even with this kind of system you will actually get so much skill to use that you don’t even want to use the old skills anymore. There’s 3 things you should reconsider though:

  • If they do balance the damage, you could see that you have over 20 skills that will do the same thing: damage, why do you need that many ? O.O

  • if we have both damage scaling and utility from the low rank, why do you bother get new class/rank anymore ? Right ? so if the damage is scaling then they need to nerf the utility that each skill give you (skill often have both utility and damage, like cyro freeze and damage or archer stun and damage) and the class is unique because of their utility, then if they nerf the utility the uniqueness disappear.

  • If they nerf the damage but keep the utility at later level though, you get what we’re already have now :3

Err hunter is rather OP now though, I didn’t play this class yet but the peoples who played kTOS said so
You should try it while waiting for your friend, level up a solo character when he can’t play with you and try the class combination. You often don’t know if it’s fit your style or not unless you played it yourself :smiley:

I am a hunter c2 and I do not disagree with that.

What is a class that is able to pin someone down to obsolence while eating their defense, making them more susceptible to criticals and wreck them if they use plate since the attacks are strike oriented? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’m so going for C3.

And let’s not that forget that a higher rank class performs about the same as a class of equal rank, but with more pronounced utility in certain skills. It’s inevitable that your basic skills will eventually be outperformed, because they are just that: basic.

If you can’t find a good combo, then you’re not exploring your options enough. There is plenty of synergy between classes of all ranks, and nobody’s saying you can’t lurk and find inspiration from other players’ builds.
Rank 7+ will always be better in terms of damage, but that doesn’t mean that your base class can’t supplement your play throughout the game.
