My feedback: What is needed to be changed

After playing the game, I think there are some thing you should change:

All my suggestions are pointing to get a huge base of players, that in a mmorpg is vital. ( I have played a few)

---------------------------- TP shop --------------------------------

  • REMOVE TOKEN SYSTEM
    It seems more a dark pattern that something desirable.
    So the aution house, trade, the storage etc should be equal to all players.
    This maybe sound crazy but you want to peple dont look at a pay to win game.

  • MANTAIN SPEED UP BUFF ITEMS in tp store like xp buff, coin buff etc.
    It’s totally normal pay to go fast. You have time or money. Lot of people have to work, so it good to have a way to speedup our leveling, but there not will be only pay advantages. You should erase enchanted scrolls or make them dropeable.

  • Introduce STATS, SKILLS, AND CIRCLE RESET:
    TOS have a very complex class system, not other game let you choose more than 1 class (in RO you choose 2 times, but novice to 1º jobs can be obvious), but here you have to choose form 5 to 7 times so you´ll make a lot of mistakes and now you have 2 options: if you have time, reroll or quit. And people leaving the game is bad.

People are complainig about reset because you could change your “class” to other in late game, but this is not a bad thing. People dont want other people can have a nicer way to level than they, but this it’s better for the game at the end. You´ll have more crafters, more healers, more of all. You could form a party faster and better. There will be more trading and money flow. And overall, you could experiment and create some crazy build without risk, because you could fix your mistakes.
For all the people that defend no reset, i hope they remember this when they look for a healer, a crafter, cretate a guild or other thing that the 2 o 3 really working clasess and found nothing.

  • INTRODUCE LOTS OF DYES AND COSTUMES.
    This is where the money should go. You should introduce a lot of stetical content to the TP store. Stetical content is infinite, don´t interfere in the game and you can sell it very expensive. People like to personalize their characters and be diferent from others.
    The best will be have costumes in parts so you could combine and dye them independently. (althoug you buy sets).

This way people dont have to play to play, but they will pay more and be more happy because they pay for something cool. This is The free to play model of Lol and Dota if someone are asking if it works.

  • INTRODUCE BOUND TO TEAM NOT ONLY CHARACTER.
    You want to promove alters. Giving money and equipement to my alter chars makes easy for me to have alter chars, so virtually there will be more available classes to party. EXP cards can be character bound, but tp items like xp tomes, equipement, gems etc should be bound to team not character.

  • MAP EXPLORATION BY TEAM.
    I think the map sould be explored once. If you discover a zone with a character, ther should be no need to do it over an over. This should promove alters

  • PROMOTE PARTY:
    You should introduce xp bonus for partys that make them atractive. Missions are great for solo, but both systems should be complementary.
    If you are alone you do quest but is some friend enter, you should preffer going party with him instead solo.
    For this you should introduce

  • Bonus per player so you preffer to fill the party.

  • More grinding zones, dungeons or World bosess.

  • Equipement hunt (maps where you could kill tons of mobs to find some concrete object)

  • Party system. Where you look for players and players can look for partys, system will match make a fit party and warp the player to the party.

Better PVP:
Castles or Guild bases are desirables, PVP events or tournaments too. Only an arena is not enought.

I know some of this are huge features, but others ar not. I dont think the game going to change, but i think it should be.

PD: Costumes and dyes Items (TP items) should be not tradeable and character bound so IMC real income are not affected by gold seller, this is the key. They can modify in game economy prices, but not IMC incoming. In game Economy will be changing to adjust and gold will be devaluated so people at the end tent to change items for items and not for gold in worst scenario.

I’m a token user and I love the features, but I admit some features really give an advantage, such as 3 movespeed bonus, people say it’s not much but the moment I activated mine I felt the speed buff and passing by random non token users. Another stupid thing is trade restrictions for non token users, I can’t even trade with them, but IMC decided to allow trading for non token users already so that’s something

This may destroy the game a bit (class circle reset) but we do need one for major balance changes if any

I forgot to say but Reset Should be a TP item, I think indivisual reset (stats or cicle) should be arround 5$ so 50TP, so you could reset your char for 10$. I´ll make them instant item, so no trade posible.

will bring more harm because you wont be able to get exp card rewards for exploring on alt characters and that means -3 cards per map. That would slow progression, especially at higher levels.

I mean godess statues, the exploring system may stay. but teleportation should be unlock for alters

then it is bound to be abused: teleport to high level location without aggro monsters, explore it 100%, get 3(!) lvl 11 exp cards on lvl 1 character.

Can be already abused with party quest teleportations, guild summons.

There is a reason why the EXP cards have a level requirement to use them.

@elglonomo : Most if not all of your concerns have been raised before. I really don’t want to sound rude but, due to a lack of better words, you’re portraying the archetypal guy (or gal) who’s played several other online games and as such knows how their economics or game design work, although that’s not the case.

I used to think the same way before I got to set a foot in a video game school and had the chance to see how things actually worked, not as a consumer point of view, but from the developers’, and believe me when I say they’ve got to make compromises all the time so that they make profit while also pleasing the community as much as possible.

All that to say that IMC has most likely planned out most things beforehand with many changes along the road. There is a reason why things are as they are now. If something is particularly wrong from a consumer’s point of view (such as now with all those price changes, transfers and whatnot), the community is sure to bring it up loud and clear. IMO the current game mechanics are not a cause for concern at the moment.

Okay that was definitely too much for what I wanted to say in the end but uh yeah.

You are assuming I don’t know what I´m talking about and but you do because you go to a videogame school. This is incorrect and a fallacy.

I´ve argumented my pointswith reasons, I know IMC have spent a lot of hours thinking the game design but I think they made wrong decisions with the token systems.

In videogames there are lot of monetization systems, some prove work better than others, this don´t make all the game to copy what works, buy if works at least a review is a good thing to do.

Years ago pay to play was the only way for an mmo, then fremium model come and lot of games implement it, some went well some bad. If you study what games works, I think we can think of 2 big fremium games.
Candy crush. pay to win, It works because it not competitive agains other players is player vs machine
LOL/DOTA. Free to play and only pay for accel and customizers. works in a high competitive game.

I think TOS should be more like LOL or DOTA than other games more like candy crush that failed like LOTRO or Conan.

And pls reply with arguments. I´m a game developer but that has nothing to do with my arguments, I can be wrong and a “simple costumer” can be rigth

Another argument for Reset:

In games Like RO, TOS, LOL, DOTA There are a huge Metagame with the player build. Its needed a place where you can try new things without fear.
All this games have resets and that dont ruin them. This allow game like LOL to change the game mecanics every year, allow a RO pj a reset to optmize that MVP card, and should Allow TOS to try new circle combinations.

And if you think of it Reroll is a reset, only a paintfull one.

I think class reset should be available but only 1 TP for 1 class. So let’s say I am C3… I should actually be abble to reset to C2 and if I need to reset to C1 I need to actually pay 1 + 2… and so on.

So a C3+K2+Pal should pay 2+4 ( for C3->C1) then K2 ( 8+16 ) and Pal ( 32 )
So full class player know it cost 60 reset potion for a full reroll and reroller sacrify reset potion to a maximum reroll.

My concern is about AFK shopping and channel …

AFK and multi channel vending should be a normal features… for vending… otherwise most vendor play online or off channel…
