My feedback from iCBT2

Hello. I know I’m a bit late to this party, but I wanted to share my view on the game state atm, from what I’ve seen of the iCBT2.
I built two characters, the first until level 196 (stopped playing a few days before the end because I got a new job).

It was a wizard and my class path was Wiz C1 > Cryo C1 > Linker C1 > Elementalist C1 > Sorc C1 > Alchemist C1.
Not any C2 because I wanted to see the core gameplay of as many classes as possible.

I began playing because a lot of my friends on a Skype group began playing as well. We played together mostly until the Tenet Chapel.
After this, it was pretty hard to always play together because most of the time, people were playing solo or were busy so we ended up with some members being 20 levels higher
than ours. By the time I got to the Mausoleum with a friend, our little group was already splitted in 2 or 3

Was away for a few days so when I was back, everyone had already got passed the Mausoleum XP curve. Had to find a party and grind 1-2 hours to level up enough to get passed it.
Nothing too bad for me. But I think that is what made most of my friends stop just before the end of the Mage Tower. They said it did not matter to level up more as there was going to be a reset anyway.

So here I was, with only one friend remaning willing to play with me.
His path was Cleric C1 > Priest C3 > Pardoner, and he stopped playing at the Demon Prison grind because he was a bit disgusted by his uselessness. He wanted to build a support
character, not a crit monk, so he thought blessing and mass heal scrolls would be amazing. The thing is, it is not possible to make these. That made me really, really sad for him
as there was no description hinting at these restrictions in the game.

From this step, I continued playing solo, mainly spamming pots to keep me alive and because of the summon SP consumption. That’s by the way what motivated me to get alchemist after
this. I was using a harpeia until I finally got my templeshooter (had to afk in the Construct Chapel until he spawns), because well… sadly this summon is so much better than
the alternatives. Even his skills. I loved Harpeia’s AoE but the dash felt rather bad compared to this. Was also playing a bit with a chapparition sometimes. But the double
hit of TS is just too good to pass.

Now, I must say I had a lot of problem with this build until I hit Linker. Most wizards and Cryo skills are not good enough to damage bosses, or even packs of monsters.
The ice blast nerf made me quite sad (I think they went a bit to far by adding a cooldown and removing the splash freeze at the same time), and I only discovered the ice wall pellets
later (these are amazing but it feels a bit… off).

Linker, on the other hand, was uber good. Joint Penalty especially. Hangman’s knot a bit too, when it correctly groups mobs and is not resisted for god knows what reason.
Around this time, my BnB became JP > HK > Ice Pike and I spent most of my money to enhance Ice Pike. I was able to one shot / two shot most 5 mobs packs pretty consitently with this.
On boss fights… I still felt a bit useless but I was playing on a party with a pyromancer so it wasn’t that bad, and after all DPS doesn’t make everything.

I choosed to go instead of Linker C2 for two reasons :
1 - I discovered you could not share potions with Spiritual Sin. That is a sin against fun, why IMC ? D: (might have been OP though ?)
2 - I was only playing with the priest and as he lacked damage, killing boss became a hassle. 10 minutes to take each down, sometimes more. Some were harder than others,
and I think you might want to tune this. Some weren’t doing a scratch while others were one-shotting us. You might want to buff the weaker ones (I won’t complain about the hard ones)

So elementalist solved… Pretty much everything. proeminence and hail especially, are amazing on bosses and good on packs if you link them. Electrocute is a bit meh, but with the attributes
and the freeze bonus it gets a pass (the setup is hard to pulloff with the CD, and I actually also choose the class for this combo). Stone curse is…? Perhaps useful in PvP ? It’s like a worse
version of sleep to me, because cursed ennemies get a shitton of defense to everything.

Then, I jumped to sorcerer, as I’ve read meteor wasn’t thaaat good because of the cast time, and the reflect shield abuse was removed around this time (thanks be the gods for the fix, now surespell will have some use !).
I also choose this class because I always loved summoners. The class is in a rather good state I’d say, but IMC should fix a lot of things (bugs ?).

  • The cat. It eats so many buff slots, and the buffs aren’t really that useful. We don’t even know the value of them btw. Please, add them to the description.

  • The AI. Sometimes after I mount my summon, or even by itself, it freezes. It also has a tendency to miss its first it by hitting the position the monster occupied a few seconds ago.

  • Mount. Camera glitches. A lot of bosses are missing their skills. The cooldown are hidden. And it consumes more SP. I still used it (harpeia’s circle AoE in Demon Prison was so much fun) but man it needs some fix.
    Also atm a lot of the skills are bland and actually decrease your dps (by that I mean, your summon would be more useful autoattacking).

  • Salamion. I love this tiny orange demon but I don’t get why it despawns when you summon the boss. Also it auto attacks as well… It would be so much better if it was spitting fire (a bit like the shoggoth that was just removed ?)

  • Hold. Moving the cat / salamion is rather useless. Also, it makes attack ground useless (what even is the use of attack ground ?!).

  • I actually liked the bats, because they were dealing AoE damage whenever the monsters were linked. 15 bats at sorcerer C3 might actually be good, especially in PvP. Perhaps the damage is a bit too weak though ? Also I don’t undertsand the use of the attrbiute. 5% chance to deal splash damage ?! Not gonna happen a lot.

Finally, as I couldn’t get to play with a mineloader during this beta and the shoggoth didn’t appealed to me, I have taken alchemist. I loved it.

  • Playing with potions and item awakening / magnum opus felt so good.

  • I’ve only discovered useless stuff atm but Magnum Opus has a lot of potential if you make in game secrets to lead to some combination lists.

  • Dig is… Useless though since you can weapon switch to a shovel. Also I’ve haven’t found any use for the mats you dig out of the ground (even with Magnum Opus). Not any hidden treasure as well.

  • Combustion seems rather buggy even with the silver attribute, and deals lackluster damage (lower than my bats wth). Please change it to something more exciting (like acid demonstration from RO, but less OP ?).

Oh, and please, add to alchemist C3 a way to pitch your potions to your friends. Especially with the new market restrictions, I fear most of the potions might be really hard to attain now.
