My feedback and reports about the Companion System

Well, today I had a good day with my newly bought pet, well, actually it is the first pet I got at all.
I really enjoyed the idea of buying pets and making them be barrack bound, meaning
that all characters can use them if it is not already following another character (which can be undone on the barrack, no need to login the char).

But the companions system also have it’s bug. like It’s ability of breaking story quests.
If you happen to create a new character, try bringing your pet with that same character, due to the delay of the quest objectives
changing and the pet also not freeze during cinematic, the pet end up killing the monsters that get near you,
which may also make you have to re-enter the game to retry the mission because the pet killed the monsters too soon, and did not counted to the quest objective.

Another issue that I found on the pet system, is that there seems to have a lag to update the pet status bars, that appear bellow it, to you understand what I mean, I will try to use my Tenet Chapel grinding as an example.
While I were trying to grind my pet in one of it’s most populated rooms, my pet were being attacked by monsters and having red numbers appearing above him (taking damage, duh), but I found it weird that the health bar were still showing as full (Ruh, oh!), so I didn’t minded that much, then my pet fainted and the health bar updated to the entire bar empty.
That issue sucks, and I believe something like this is also present on Granado Espada party members health bars.

Also, remember that I said I were grinding on Tenet Chapel to level up the companion? Well, it was a foolishness, I discovered that this game catched Children of Mana’s flu.
What is it? Well, on Children of Mana, after some level your character starts gaining 3 of exp per monster killed. Here it is different, all monsters in the game gives 2 exp to the pet, well, at least if you kill the monster, because if the pet kill it by himself, he will receive at least 1 exp instead.
No matter which level is the monster, you just need to kill it, meaning that high kps will make your pet level up like zoom.
Beside this annoying downside, I believe fighting bosses and completting quests give a fair ammount of exp, but that thing of the companion only receive 2 of exp per kill really sucks.
At least was very profitable, since I were grinding my companion on the Miner’s Village near the west Giant Red Kepa spawn point, so at least I were able to make some silvers, beside were very boring to wander around shooting at everything.

Other issue is that the companion seems to be immune to debuffs like Sleep and Lethargy, but Poison debuff seems to affect it.

Another issue I have found is that sometimes the pet menu glitches and refuses to open until you does not move to another map, counting also that I cannot use the menu commands, like Alt + 1 to pet the companion (or was it to feed?) because the menu is not opened.

And to finish, trying to move your pet around in the barrack (does not count if he is following one of your characters) does not executes his walk animation, so it slides away on his stopped animation, beside it’s funny seeying that on the Banquet Hall Barrack, this issue is exquisite.

And now, about the feedbacks, now that I placed all the issues of the companion system.

The first feedback is some new companions, like for example… Remember of the Pantos on the fields in the way to Tenet Chapel? Since the quest of the Baby Pantos, I believe they could be a potential companion, beside would be very hardcore if the player could choose which weapon it would use, and depending on the weapon it gets a role like one of it’s variation with the same kind of weapon (Ex:. Pantos with a bow turns into Pantos Bowman monster).

The second feedback, which I believe you guys will reject obviously, could make so if a Tree-Root Crystal is destroyed, part of the stamina of the pet is regenerated, like 3 to 6.
Beside it can turn obsolete the use of the pet foods…

Another thing that would be nice is that the pet trainer could sell recipes to craft pet foods by using ingredients dropped by monsters, like as the meats I find from some monsters and cannot find use, the recipes would need to have a lower price than the pet food itself to make it worth trying.

And to finish, don’t you think that the other 2 pets for sale are way too overpriced?

I guess that’s all for this feedbacks and bug reports thread.
