My brain hurt from person that can't understand simple thing

Someone tried to convince me that 3/4 people is the same as 6/8 people…

I told him that 6/8 people is bigger since there are six people and not three goddamnit

But then he might be messing with me… unless he’s actually dumb enough to think 3/4 people is bigger than 6/8 people… AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I even tried to use my marbles to represent 3/4 and 6/8 people and 6/8 is definitely bigger…

3/4 and 6/8 are not even one person.

3/4 and 6/8 is seen as fractions if you write it like that and he’s technically not wrong.

3/4 and 6/8 is the same; they’re both 75% of the whole.
4 divided by 100 is 25. 3 x 25 = 75
8 divided by 100 is 12.5. 6 x 12.5 = 75

3/4 is the simplify fraction of 6/8 because it can be simplified by finding the common denominator, which is 2.

6/8 divided by 2 is 3/4. So it’s the same.

If you’re saying 6 people out of 8 and 3 out of 4; then it’s obviously going to be taken as a fraction problem. If you had said 3 of 8 and 6 of 8, then obviously 6 of 8 would be bigger.

Misinterpretations happens.

You do realize that dividing both 6/8’s numerator and denominator by 2 (AKA simplifying), you get 3/4, right?

EDIT: If you doubt my words, cut 6/8 people in half (both 6 and 8 people, of course) and you will see it with your own eyes.

Technically, 6/8 divided by 2 would be 6/16 or 0,375.

(Of course I know what you meant, but the way you worded it made it seem it was like 6/8/2, which, of course, would be equivalent to 6/8 * 1/2)

I seriously hope you’re just pretending being retarded.

If we’re approaching this in terms of sample sizes, six out of eight people is a larger (and better) sample than three out of four people, but without knowing the details of the situation, I’m just speculating in an attempt to put this into perspective.

From a numerical reductionist view, 3/4 == 6/8.

Is this one of those threads where someone asks how to do the backwards ‘b’?
