My 2 cents on why trading was paywalled

Even if token is a form of subscription the price is just ridiculous compared to other titles in the MMO market and I’m talking about the big ones.

Not really. Personally I prefer this setup more. I can get a few months of ‘subscription’ (token) , rush through and sell whatever I want during those few months. When reach end game or when I little time to play due to real life commitments, I can drop the ‘subscription’ and still enjoy the game with my other friends with only some ‘trade limitations’. All the content is still available even without the token status at all. That’s the beauty of having this token system rather than a monthly sub.

Hence I rather have a slightly more expensive “sub” where I can determine when and how I want to use it rather than a fixed “monthly subscription” which forces me to subscribe even when I want to play the game for like 3-4 hours a month.

My suggestions on how to solve the problem.

Introduce another token which is buyable with only in-game silver.

Auctioneer’s Pass (1 week) - 80k silver.

Gives the player 1 week “premium auction access”

  • 10% commission charge instead of 30%
  • Ability to list up to 10 items (instead of 5 compared to token members)
  • Transactions resolve in 3 hours (instead of the usual 24 hours)

With this token f2p players can buy this token, sell whatever spoils they want during the week, without buying the expensive 500k token which have other “premium” features they don’t require.

For player to player trade wise, we can set it up like a guild feature. Guild members are able to utilise a guild “item bank” where they can “trade items” and not silver. Members will have to be guild members for at least 1 week before being able to get access to the guild bank.

I don’t use direct trading in my playstyle because I’ve adapted to the game. When a party member gets a drop that I need and he doesn’t, that’s a bummer. If I get a drop that he needs, that’s also a bummer. Instead of whining I sell the item on the market and save up to buy an item that I do need. I’m not going to ask IMC to potentially ruin the economy because of this.

Not using something is not equivalent to not understanding something. I’ve seen many MMOs with economies gone completely out of control due to gold selling and RMT. Tree of Savior is an amazing game with great potential, I do not want it to go downhill the way I’ve seen many other games do.

As quoted from IMC’s post regarding trade and the economy,

It’s difficult to maintain one, yet very easy to ruin.

Impulse decisions and short term thinking is exactly the way to go to kill the game’s economy. And noone wants to play a game with an insanely inflated economy. You cannot simply make a change because “everyone wanted it”. As a game designer and developer, you have to first work out the impact of the change on your game before you do anything. IMC has decided that enabling trades takes the game in a direction that they feel uncomfortable with, thus the trading restrictions.

Ok what imc say is bs.the moment the developer limited the trade he limited the economy. Limited economy is ruinined. Thats howcits irl and in mmos.
Now this kill the mmo part of the game. As solo gamevits bad.
