So, I’ve been playing around with some things, looking at builds in ktos, here, everywhere. With changes to toy hammer, i had to take that into consideration and I decided on one thing. Rod3/shinobi/Murm is really awesome, But circle 2 and 3 are insanely important so I really need to look into it more. So I decided on this
Sword3/rod3/shinobi/murm1
Now, why did I choose sword3 and completely ignore pelt and all of the other potential choices which are usually the crux of swordsman? Well the truth is, I’ve played some of the late game content and the biggest thing I hate is lvl 5 pain barrier on my warrior. I always feel that if I had some more I’d be able to deal with so many things and put out more. ALSO, who in their right mind wants to aggro 10 magic mobs! Another big thing is that The mobs would get too overwhelming, so the idea of restraint 10 coupled with my insane aoe ratios and damage seemed like a good choice since i’d be able to set up to kill things better.
Another thing is, I really like PVP… Its broken right now, but I really like it, and i’m tired of seeing catagoon being literally the only thing people talk about as viable in the sword tree. Now i know I could be going corsair to be even better for pvp since iron hook gets around plague doctors blood letting, but I think shinobi’s invisibility and murmillos burstyness can set up really crazy scenario’s for the enemy.
What I’d like to do is
60 strength(it helps since each rank you get as a swordsman really buffs your strength a lot so having a small base is great)
60 con (i’ll come back to this in a moment but its enough)
and the rest in dex which is usually about 240 more (by lvl 330)
What this does is gives you approximately a baseline stat of 140 strength/80 con/310+ dex after all the bonuses(if you were max level and rank8)
Now why I think this build is truly interesting is that it has access to some really amazing itemization that I really only dove into today. I thought more of how to theory craft around items instead of just skills. What could I do to make a character that could take advantage of some of the really awesome items coming/came out. So these are the items I found.
https://tos.neet.tv/items/103120 This sword gives you decent attack/con/ and a HUGE buff to your magic defense(seldom do anything but murm use 1handed swords)
https://tos.neet.tv/items/224105 This shield essentially does the same with another huge buff to con and a huge buff to magic defense ( basically only murm and dragoon2 will really be using this since fencer cant use it and neither can doppel or lancer)
https://tos.neet.tv/items/534109 This armor from the new part of ET is also loaded with an insane amount of con and magic defense (if you aren’t getting this shirt and its 80 con, you’re probably a little nuts)
https://tos.neet.tv/items/524111
https://tos.neet.tv/items/504111
https://tos.neet.tv/items/514111
the rest of these are 3 plate armor pieces from new ET area and offer the most HP wise. ( most other classes might favor the cloth since it helps with magic damage but the stats from the plate are relatively good seeing is that you need the physical defense to match the magic defense you’ll be getting)
Finally to round it off with the new necklace
https://tos.neet.tv/items/584106 (essentially another item everyone will be getting but you can take advantage of all the stats pretty well(except int ofcourse)
and Sissel bracelets (we already have these
Where your con was kinda meh at 60 you’re automatically sporting nearly 300 with these equips + HUGE MAGIC DEFENSE(literally the only class path in the swordsman tree that can take advantage of using both the sword/shield)
So theoretically you’ll have
Your main weapon which you can start to transcend for more physical attack
300+ con which equates to 45k hp (not including straight HP for equips like your gloves and boots so probably closer to 50k+)(swordies get a lot more out of their con than other classes)
a Huge base of 300+ dex where you will likely get more crit rate from green gems/sissel/ and your necklace(or dare i say ellaganos if you really need it
Also you will have your helmet skill for even more tanking.
I’ll be honest I feel like there really isn’t a true tank in tos except something full con with food buffs but this build seems to sport the ability to be the tank TOS deserves along with the damage maybe not on par with but certainly near that of the better damage classes
I Hope you found it interesting reading through my theory crafting of the craziest possible Murmillo build with items included.
