Well IMC other game Wolfknights thread. Since there no English forum.

Alright my first order of comment is this wallpaper from 2P

If you look in the background around the zombie/skeleton like creatures you can see a dress, a girl charging the zombies with holding a log like object. Thats Claire (preteen version) from GE in Wolfknight graphics.

IMC is Wolfknights still alive or to be cancelled. Last official update was in August 2015.

I kinda like they way you experiment with ideas of combining both MOBA and MMORPG but it seems tab-targeting and que waiting and certain mechanics werent popular. I havent tried the game since my toaster might cry from its system req. Which is why im more awaiting ToS.

I was kinda expecting it to be like ‘For Honor’ with pretty ladies

Just a suggestion but it could be also fanservice is clothing damage but it might cause longer development process.

You could also implement the lobby as a large town instead, just to be kinda immersive instead of just a clicking lobby.

And a instanced plot of land or just empty housing that players can customize and other players can visit. one can place trophies there and the likes.

But it seems IMC is now fully focused on ToS development. Thats okay.

In all honesty i prefer then focus on ToS than a new project, the reason is human resources and costs, i think ToS have all to become a great game and have a huge success, i am hoping for that, about this other game, its not my cup of tea, the reason i say that is, there is too many similar games like it, well its my opinion and most people out there prefer this kind of game, but if IMC present something that differentiate from the cliche out there, i think its worth, but as i said before, finish ToS first, when it become stable, not only functionally but also in popularity side, Wolfknights dev could start without a problem.

Looked like it was tab targeting? That’s not really my cup of tea personally.

Though, I did hear a bit about how it’s got leveling per match so sort of a MOBA element with some PvE aspects which I did on the other hand did find interesting.

Well I’m not familiar with when wolf knights started development. But I kind of wonder if it was a hey lets work on this game… And while we’re doing that lets work on ToS. And then they were like… wait ToS is good… we should do this one.

/Insert all eggs in one basket analogy here

That said… I remember a flagship studio(which was made up for parts of early Blizzard team) did the same thing with a game called Mythos and Hellgate london. Neither of the games actually managed to be finished or make any money in time. And the company was dissolved and the partly finished games sold off to companies in the East. Later that team would form a new company and make Torchlight and Torchlight 2 and currently continue to make promising games.

It was a big shock to everyone in game industry… And the big moral of the story is. Get your game out, at least part of it as soon as possible. You know or end up like flagship studios… or Star Citizen.

Sounds to me like a stroke of luck, i do have both TL titles and love the way both are well done, specially TL2 since you can create mods, which led to many new contents made by community, but i think it is a risk thing to try and do 2 projects at same time unless one of them is basically ready to go out and they have some free time to dedicate to the second, otherwise it will end up piling problem after problem which may or may not lead to a not worth situation and both get canceled because of it, that is, unless IMC have enough people for both projects, in that case i don’t see any problem having both.

Well they were rock star’s of the game developer world. And still very much are. They just ran themselves out of money. Back in that day… F2P wasn’t very big and there wasn’t such a thing as early access. So you couldn’t really just put a product out without polish and then finish it up with the income from the unpolished product.

Star Citizen on the other hand more so terrible workplace environment, poor management, bad planning, thinking way too big, and about to get sued.

Never got to see a good footage from SC and in all honesty, the way they are running business even before release sound like a huge scam, i do see people complaining about how you have to open your wallet for almost anything in game.

it wasnt a new project. they were developing it along with ToS with the original title ‘Project G2’ stated in some game website like ToS was ‘Project R1’. The 2 games both entered close beta phase in 2015, but WK only got 1 CBT while ToS got 3 CBTs and launched the same year, due to Nexon contracts mostlikely.

The issues it was it was tab targeting/point and click which fell ire to most people. I dont mind as long as the game is fun. but most of the new mmorpg today are all going action combat

WK is a MOBA mix with MMORPG element with actual quest and some RPG story in a MOBA environment. Which also requires 150 players to que in to play a session with 50 vs 50 vs 50 players on 3 Factions. So IMC made something like in game pre registration for each session. Which all the more kinda makes it hard to get into a game session.

I kinda like the idea its remincent of large scale any mmorpg guild wars, without the long months of grinding just to be competent character level and equipment in mass pvp. Wolfknights is like a everyday guildwar event.

At the beginning i doubt it would work, at least not with that number pf required players, if they drop that number to half or more for testing purposes it would work out, then later after the game is released and have a stable player base, they could increase to its original 150, but still, starting both at the same time depending on the situation could cause more troubles, but lets hope they don’t cancel the project, just leave there until they get more comfortable with their workload on ToS, well i do think they might resume it after that.
I thought Nexon KR was different from the others but i guess it was a mistake on my part, i mean, to force (if that is the case) a game that need heavy polished to Release state is a bad move, in all honesty, if i was in IMC CEO place, i would call off the contract, remove the game from Nexon’s hand and handle myself in the region, or invest on Int version including KR and whatever other country that try to pull that crap off.

They maybe trying to target a specific crowd of old school gamers with the tab targeting. I just wonder though if that crowd actually exists or not. Is there a notable amount of people that prefer tab target over softlock or positional targeting for a PvP game?

older gamers mostlikey, your reflex becomes slower as you grow old thus the newest action games are quite too fast pace for them.

we’ll eventually reach that age, maybe tab-targeting games would become popular again at those times…unless those proto brain-input controllers gets upgrades. which reflex would be faster than fingers.

I wouldn’t mind look like this if i could play ToS with it LMFAO.

itll eventually look like these
