Its kind of useless. The defense bonus have no use cause you will auto-unmount when in combat.
The speed bonus is pretty low too.
Nothing beats riding atop of bosses though.

Since the mount give you the bonus, I suppose that. We will have to wait to know things for sure.
“premium companion egg” Any idea what type of pet hatches? I was honestly hoping for more pets and I don’t mind having to spend money for them.
The bonus is for the (cata and sr) classes that get bonuses from the pet they are riding,just like it was before.

I’m pretry sure you get the bonus just for having the pet out and following you, it’s going to work just like the companions we have now.
Based on the KToS discussion thread, we does not dismount upon taking damage. Instead you’ll get dismounted automatically when using skills while riding companions (With exception of Cata and Reiter of course).

llama looks really nice.
Extra bonuses are always usefull
BUT -i really hope that llama get some higher base “stats” too
Right now -best companion for any rider is Vellheider, and then Hoglan&pig -cos you need one with highest HP gain (% of that is transfered to raider)
Guild pet are usless cos they have REALLY low HP
For hunters & as general pets - hoglan is better then Vell, but best are premium “guild” pets -panda&guinea pig -cos they have highest damage stats (STR & DEX)
Base stats looks like this, then they scale up with pet levels
Its worth mentioning that pets are curently in “half-finished” state, there are no pet equipment, there was mentioned “Closeness Level” to diffrent character in lodge < yet it is still missing.
AND pets&mount are generally broken -if you dont know pet can use his ENTIRE stamina just walking around town, and they do it quite fast 
they also not resting by campfire, you need to feed that botompless mouth constantly just to regen stamina.
Oh and when you rifing on companion -you dont even see his stamina level anymore

If it looks as bad as the current ones i don’t care about it 
And second i thought there are currently only vel / hoglan and hawk ingame …
