Most efficient method of leveling up?

Hello there. I’ve been up all night just to see both the effect of my actions for today and the quality of the game, and I must say I can’t keep on; I need to sleep.

Before that, though, I noticed that, while ONLY doing my quests and talking with every NPC to squeeze every tiny bit of EXP 'atta 'em, I soon found myself fighting level 13 goblins as a level 8 cleric. While I can handle that, it’s too costly in terms of resources.

When I entered the Crystal Mines, I found that the mobs were around level 18. So I consider I must have went wrong somewhere. How do I efficiently increase my levels further; are there other quests out there, or is merely by partying up and grinding?

Explore the map and talk to every NPCs

Unlike the typical MMOs, ToS doesn’t show you everything so you have to explore to get the most out of it (like finding the statues that give 1 stat or finding NPCs giving quest)

That said, Cleric does the lowest damage out of all the classes so even with on-par level don’t expect to quickly kill things (the tears when a random Wiz just hopping around shooting enemies for 50+ damage while my swing is like 16)

Also, some quests are repeatable multiple times (for example, goblin relief is up to 10 times)

You apparently have not seen what Cure can do.

oh so you can damage an undead using cure/heal skill?

Yes, but it won’t work on monster that float like Bats, etc.

they have an undead bat/bird? thats new :stuck_out_tongue:

I think you’re interpreting my post wrong. Heal and Cure can damage everything except flying monsters.

I have to say, Cure is atm one of my best dmg abilities on my cleric. Perfect for immobile boss fights and grinding.

I have maxed cure and heal, they do a lot of damage but your melee is kinda bleh. (I’ve seen swordie doing 140 in the same area when I’m doing maybe 30-40…)

Unless I’m doing it wrong for putting points in Int >_>

I found that out the hard way in the mines. 95% of my damage come from cure and heal.

oh ok sorry but thx for clarifying it

Well, if you’re above 25, try getting a sword and farm the flying purple thing (Grummel? Grukkel?), it can drops Morningstar, +5 that (about 8k total) and you can use it til 40.

Before that you can consider farming Vubbe Fighter (Mine F3) and hope it drops the purple mace.
