More intuitive world map, PLEASE!

The world map is really unintuitive right now. The compass that shows whether you’ve fully explored a map or not is bugged, and there’s no indication of which maps you’ve found the statue in, which you’re still missing, which maps are missing collections… etc.

So a better world map should include the following features:

  • COLOR the names of areas you have done every quest in differently.
  • A RELIABLE icon to tell you which map you’ve fully explored.
  • An icon that tells you if you’ve not found, found, or completed, the COLLECTION(S) of an area.
  • An icon to indicate the location of DUNGEONS.
  • MAKE THE WORLD MAP STOP FREEZING THE GAME.
  • And finally, color the GODDESS STATUE icon green when it’s been found, and red when it hasn’t been.

I think a lot of people were complaining they don’t want the game to be a guided tour so most likely these things won’t be done.
Personally I used to prefer not getting lost but meh I welcome anything that makes the game more challenging.

I think what the OP meant is actually something that indicates that they still have things to do on that map, leaving to the player to figure out what’s missing.

While I like the idea of the game not spoon-feeding players, a few tweaks could be done.

I agree with the following ones:

‘A RELIABLE icon to tell you which map you’ve fully explored.’ So far I only got the compass icon, which means that you explored the map 100%.

‘An icon that tells you if you’ve not found, found, or completed, the COLLECTION(S) of an area.’
Only an icon that displays that you managed to find the box is enough.

I think I saw somewhere the maps I had 100% explored and the ones I had not, but I don’t remember where now, maybe that lady you share stories with or in achievements.

You get the compass icon in the world map when you 100% explore it…getting the box or doing all the quests doesn’t give you any icon if i’m not wrong.

I was going to make a suggestion for something like this. With over 150 collections in the game right now, it is going to be incredibly hard to figure out if you missed any. There needs to be an easy way to see which collections you have yet to find.

I was going to suggest that there be a list in the Adventure Journal of maps that you have explored but not found the collection for, but showing it directly on the world map might be better.

At the moment the compass icon doesn’t actually reliably appear on maps you’ve fully explored, and it actually takes time for it to. It’s really weird.

All I need is for the world map not to lag me out when I opened it.

I really need for this features. IMC please!

Some nice suggestions there, but also some that I find to kinda work against exploration. In a sense that exploration should be about exploring the unknown and knowing everything that there is to find on the map by simply looking at the icons on the world map works against that.

Can’t get into details right now, busy, but I’ll edit this post soon. I do support your suggestions for the most part, but they need some tweaks, so they don’t ruin the wonder of exploring completely.

Exploration is a myth upheld by people who want to feel superior because they found everything themselves.

With the existence of sites such as: http://toscamp.com/map_en/map3.8.php

Keeping the world map ambiguous is completely pointless. It gives an advantage to people who use those sites without actually adding anything to the game whatsoever.

If you care about secrets there’s plenty for you to do, the world map doesn’t have to suck for that to still be true. There’s plenty of secret quests and events for you to know about and which aren’t on guide sites or in forum posts yet (although it won’t be long.)

OMFG thanks for that link. I’ve been trying to find a korean/something tos database site but I just couldn’t get the right keywords to find it. They got drop rates! You just saved my life ^^
