The adventure journal has monster kill counts. If you complete it you get xp cards from the npc. I get all that. What I can’t figure out is how many of each monster you have to kill to achieve that. Does it vary per monster or is it always a set number? Either way how do I know how many I have to kill?

It has enemy kill count tracking as well a reasonable way to see what parts of the map you’re actually missing.
Oh, and yes, it varies by monster. Pretty hard to keep track without the addon.

If you wan’t to check a kill count / required kills without killing an enemy you can open the adventure journal, go to the monsters tab and move your cursor over their image.
Under “My Rank” there’s a “Count: x / y” on the right side.
But that addon mentioned makes things easier when hunting them.
