Monks’ wearing weapon/shield, reappearing when attacking

It’s annoying me so much, can’t it be fixed somehow? It’s weird as hell how monks use fist skill animations and their weapons and shields keeps reappearing. I’d love if they had knuckles or (a) fist weapon(s) instead and maybe an arm wrist guard like the ninja from Ragnarok or something.

Lmao… or better, just to have their fists. I mean they are monks and practice to strengthen their own body, it’s their ultimate weapon. Never seen monks in movies or in real life running around with a shield or mace =_=;smh

I dont think he is talking about what monks use in the actual world, he is talking about game animation. Monk attacks use bare hands and discard weapon use completely. I AM NOT SAYING MONKS CANT USE WEAPONS! (that is in caps to avoid the same old conversation about weapons monks use). The IN GAME skill names and animations are clearly meant for bare hand combat and the weapon/shield disappearing and reappearing doesnt look or feel very good. It would be nice to be able to make the weapon and shield disappear until you use a skill with an animation that uses an actual weapon.

Unless there’s another class or two that uses a bare-hand animation move for its skills, then I don’t think IMC will put any effort to make a set of attack animations just for one class anytime soon.

Yes, it can get more immersive for players, but development wise, it’s taking too much resource than the gain IMC will get (of course, according to IMC calculation). Also, unless players were simply drawn to Monk just because it’s bare-hand attack animations that it simply increase the gain that IMC will get in comparison to their resource, then yes, IMC will do it.

In the mean time, no, I don’t see IMC will do it for now. They’re still focusing on fleshing out the R1-R6 content of the game and publishing it in selected countries.

Yes, it’s true development wise that they will have their priorities. But what I want to hope for, is that they will recognize our demand for better visuals to the Monk class sometime when they have time to do it.

Monks already have those animations, the issue comes from the weapons disappearing and reappearing for every single attack you make, that includes regular attacks because of how double punch works. To be honest I’d rather the monk attacked with the weapon just so it doesnt look as silly.

Just look for a tos monk video and you will notice the problem right away. Its not game breaking or anything but it would be nice somewhere down the line.

I know. What you’re talking about is the Monk, after he initiated a Double Punch (or any of his skills, really), he will get back to a ready stance animation, thus revealing his weapons (The mace/sword, and shield/dagger).

The ready stance animation has to be there, though, to prevent misunderstanding of him lagging or anything, both for you and other players as well. Also, OP suggesting them to just give them a kunckle or fist weapon, which I already stated the reason why they won’t do it anytime soon in my post earlier.

The question, however, remains: How will IMC solve it? I personally don’t know. You already made your suggestion, so there’s that.

How about let the monk costume have a toggle to make weapons/shields visible or not?
