[Monk] Which class should I pick up at Rank 8?

Hi guys.
So, I’m getting close to Rank 8 in my Cleric C2 > Diev C2 > Monk C3 build.
I’m not interested in become a Inquisitor, so I was thinking to go Diev C3.
I know very well that Inquisitor is one of the best Rank 8 classes in the actual game and it can really improve my DPS as a simple Monk. But I just don’t fit in it. I have one Pali on the way for Inquisitor, so I don’t wanna go the same path as my Monk.

  • Do you guys think that’s gonna work? Or I will lost a lot of damage output (compare to another Rank 8 characters) becoming a Diev C3 instead of Inquisitor?

  • If not a Diev C3, which another class can synergy well in this build?

Inquisitor is your only worthwhile option atm tbh.

Diev3 is nice defensively, but offensively it’s niche due to the long cd and fixed position of owls. Doubly so on a monk-oriented build since you won’t have enough int to scale the dmg.

That all should change with the upcoming patch though, but it should give resets anyway. (And arguably in that patch inquisitor is even stronger, but Monk is at least capable of standing on its own then.)

You could even do something nice with your build and ignore monk.

Go for Cl2, diev3, priest 1, oracle 1, Inq 1, with physical build and lv15 carve attack.
Do it and you will rule the tbl.

Monk C2 to C3 does not give you huge boost so it’s fine to stick at C2 Monk. Diev C3 in other hand give matters of alive and death in end game contents… So CL 2 Diev 3 Monk 2 Inqusitor should work if you’re Monk fan…

ignore monk, , your not gonna hit anyone with monk short range and survibility.

try c2 priest2 diev3 inquisitor. high damage from inquisitor, invulnerbility from statue of valkrine. enough heal for pvp and grinding. priest 2 for lvl mass heal

Either you go Cleric C3 or Diev C3

I followed the same route but pick Inquisitor and I must say the damage now it’s a great difference. You can pick Cleric or Diev 3 but you would focus on support more than DPS. I like Monk/Inquisitor synergy because you can use Monk skills while Inquisitor are on cold down.

To be frank, then you shouldn’t go monk. Inquis is the best rank8 option, you spread your damage and debuffs with wheel, Malleus is an excellent ranged debuff + damage, and god smash synergizes with physical.

I’m Monk C2 > PD and even me will take Inquisitor.

Diev 3 provide what? 20 seconds invunerability? But lets be honest, Monk damage and skills itselfs are not great enought to be on their own.

inquisitor will give you more damage for some seconds and even pvp resources.

I doubt even with combat system changes you can run a Monk3 (STR/DEX oriented) without Inquisitor. In theory you can, but in fact you will suffer a little bit I think. It’s up to you after all, if you don’t want to go Inquisitor, don’t go Inquisitor. But there are not a lot of choices at R8 for a Monk3.
