Monk PvP build help needed

I’ve been told several things by different people on what to do for my pvp monk including -

C1 Cleric, C3 Priest, C2 Monk, PD

C1 Cleric, C3 Priest, C3 Monk

C2 Cleric, C2 Diev, C3 Monk

I really don’t know which way I should go, I care mostly about being most optimal as possible for pvp and doing a lot of damage. I was told to go PD because not going a rank 7 class is a waste, but was also told PD is a waste because of no int, since i plan on going 2:1:1 str dex con.

I heard c3 priest is more supportive,while C2 diev will have more damage.
I was also told that chaplain is pretty good with priest for monk because of the holy damage, but that the scaling is poor and gets worse late on.
Does anyone have insight on all of this in which would be the best path for me?

If PvP is your focus, you’re really picking the wrong class at the moment. Monk is a one trick pony for PvP, Energy Blast knockdowns and kills or bust. Wizards and to a lesser extent Archers absolutely dominate PvP currently. Those will fit your taste for the high damage desire. If you’re going Monk, you’re forced to play a supportive role no matter what.

But to directly answer, most optimal for PvP with lots of damage would be C2 Cleric, C2 Diev, C3 Monk.

I don’t plan on going any class besides monk for cleric and i do want a monk, does this build of c2 cleric c2 diev c3 monk work very well for pve as well?

And are there scenarios in which monk will have offensive uses in fights?

Our damage isn’t terrible, we can dish out solid damage, but it isn’t anything special that any other class can’t accomplish and with much more ease. Though Monks can utilize weapon bonuses (Slashing/Strike) to their advantage and maybe deal out single target damage in some cases than others. Cleric 2 is extremely powerful due to the benefits of attributes in Safety Zone and since Divine Might now only grants +1 Skill Lvl it’s pretty limited there and you can use it to have some benefits at the start of a fight. PvE is only even easier with Cleric 2’s exponential gains there and Heal. I’d be Cleric 2 myself if didn’t already enjoy Priest 3 so much. But yes, that build is great for PvE. And more individual damage than other builds, you’ll be relying on someone else to bring the Priest buffs (These are absolute major force multipliers that are going to be welcomed in any content).

Do you think C2 cleric/C2 Diev is superior to the C3 priest build then?

C2 Cleric is amazing in PvP. More heal tiles means better survival in a game mode where your HP can drop from 100~0 really quick, and unless you can be knocked out of your Safety Zone, it will save you more times than you can count.

As jonathansilva said, Monk is not probably the ideal PvP character but I would recommend going PD if you really want a PvP focused Monk.

The skills from the PD that you want (Healing Factor, Bloodletting and maybe even the bird mask) which are pretty darn broken in PvP won’t require any int at all. Going Monk c3 is more for a PvE focused build so that you can achieve the maximum possible damage with Monk skills.

As for choosing between C2 Diev and C2 Priest, I believe it’s more of a preference.

Priest is better for defensive purposes because of Revive, Aspersio, and additional healing with Mass Heal.

C2 Diev have more offensive capabilities that you ought to find useful in PvP, but it requires situational, strategic play, and because of this they may just end up as zoning abilities in the end due to the nature of Diev skills.

However, with good team members that have excellent crowd control abilities like Psychokinos or Cryomancers, Diev builds can get real scary for the enemy team.

For PvE you should be able to fare well. At endgame, Plague Doctors are top tier and the most wanted in parties due to their status ailment prevention, regardless of what build that led to it.

The counterargument i heard to PD is that it is likely going to get nerfed because it’s too strong, but if it’s better for pvp it sounds like the right choice. I think i’d rather go dievdirby, I already have a 62 C2 priest but the more offensive build sounds more suitable to me, so i think i’ll re-roll.
