Monk - Let's Try That Again

Yo, your indecisive peon here.
Or not, hehe. After long period of trial and error I’ve finally narrowed down the classes I enjoy playing.
I’ve tried Monk once before and enjoyed it very much, but I scrapped him in order to try other classes. However now I have 10 character slots so I can go a bit nuts.

So as usual, I’d like to ask you opinion on the build I’m planning to use:

I linked the original build in this one. Dropped Aspersion and Monstrance in favor of Resurrection, and besides I can buy these buffs at Pardoner shops (~1k a 1 hour buff isn’t that much)
For inquisitor, I don’t know if I should either max Pear of Anguish or Malleus Maleficarum so I left it as it was in original.

Hi.

I think Cleric c2 is a better option than Priest c3 at rank 4 due to 4 reasons.

  1. Self buff Blessing level 15 has less return value comparing to level 11.
  2. Divine Might + Fade + Better Safety Zone.
  3. 2x Heal 10 + Mass Heal 5 is better than 2x Heal 5 + Mass Heal 10 to keep party alive.
  4. Stone Skin isn’t as good as pre-revamp.

Regarding Monk branch, I always stop at Monk c2 at most so there is nothing I can say about Monk c3. Finally, Pear of Anguish is better than Malleus Maleficarum just because the former has enhance attribute and the latter doesn’t. Here is my Monk-Inquisitor build that I find quite enjoyable to solo farm until equips all broken.

First off, thank you for your imput, i agree with a few things you said however there needs to be clerification and cleaning up of misinfo.

  1. Yes, stop at priest 2
  2. leave SZ at one because you can buy an attribute to raise the hit count at cleric 2
  3. Correct
  4. Correct
For inquisitor Max Malleus, its hands down one of the strongest damage debuffs in the game since it has a hidden ability that makes targets hit by malleus take their max matk as bonus damage on all lines of damage

Does maxing out Malleus have an appreciative effect on that debuff?
I’m debating this because it’s still a magic skill on a primarily physical build.

Max it because it does increase the time of the debuff. The potential damage from the debuff is higher than most other sources because again with high hit per second skills like breaking wheel, double pinch, 1 inch punch debuff and bleed you’ll hit much higher damage than with maxed pears .

It’s the return of the necroposter!

In the end I’m going with this build:

But now I’m really confused about equipment/gems/cards. What to go for?
Mace or sword?
Shield or dagger?
Leather or plate?
Honestly I’d rather go for the damage seeing as I have survivability improved from Cleric/Priest circles.
From my SR farming Narcon Prison, I’m at least I’m set for lv 120 :stuck_out_tongue:
I got:
Fyringy, Short Duelist, Krendall Mace, Spike Kindl
Eastern Leather set
Pangle Plate set
So I don’t know what to sell and what to keep.

For gems I planned:
Main hand: Red
Off hand: ?
Chest: Red
Pants: Red
Gloves: Blue Velwriggler Gem
Boots: Blue

And for cards:
Red: 3x Glass Mole
Blue: 3x Nuaele
Green: 3 x Netherbovine
Purple: 3x Gazing Golem

From what I’ve gathered from Valkoria’s guide, this kinda should be endgame equipment, but I’m not sure.
Main Hand: Purine Pevordimas Mace / Vienarazis Mace then upgrade to Skull Smasher.
Off Hand: ?
Necklace: Max Petamion
Bracelets: 2x Sissels > Lolopanther/Solmiki (Leather)
Top: Eastern Leather then upgrade to Lolopanther/Solmiki (Leather)
Bottom: Eastern Leather then upgrade to Lolopanther/Solmiki (Leather)
Boots: Eastern Leather then upgrade to Lolopanther/Solmiki (Leather)
Gloves: Eastern Leather then upgrade to Lolopanther/Solmiki (Leather)
Head Accessory Enchants: Physical Attack > Critical Attack > HP

How about Monk2 - Kaba1 - Inquis in PvP?

Sorry, I don’t do PvP. But from what I hear Ein Sof and Revenged Sevenfold are awesome so go for it if you are going PvP route.

For Inquisitor the best weapon is a two-handed blunt, or a one-handed mace with a shield as God Smash has it damage doubled if you use a blunt weapon

Oh, I’d love to get a two-hand blunt, if only they weren’t so bloody hard to find! Seriously, I’ve been farmng Narcon Prison in hopes of finding Krendall 2H but 50 weapon cubes and I got jack (ps that’s how I got my lv120 equips I mentioned). It’s drop rate is abysmal. And on the market all I can find are commons. Unless I picked a wrong spot, but I’ve been using the Hunting Grounds Drop List and that’s where it said it’s supposed to be X|

Shield? Not a dagger?

As you don’t use Dagger to attack directly they normally won’t have that much influence on your damage (maybe excluding Purine Pevordimas), so it’s normally better to use a shield to increase your survivability

Monks now want to use 2handed blunt weapons. Monks main issue in PvP is its lack of cc immunity and how crippled it is by lack of cc immunity so typically if you wanted a PvP speced monk you would go monk 2 Oracle or plague doctor inquisitor. Monk3 inquisitor is fine for pve.

With the upcoming R9 update, how to distribute the points for Inquisitor C2? I guess maxing God Smash an Maellus is a given, but where to put the remaining 5 points? Iron Maiden and Judgement don’t seem that great to me…

PS: For cards, should I stick with Glass Mole and Gazing Golem, or is the bleeding combo Prison Cutter + Rajapearl viable too? (personally I think the latter is the better choice)
