Monk build critic

Hi guys, excited for Ragnarok Online 2.0  I mean Tree of Savior!

I didn’t get into the closed or open betas, and have been pondering what sort of build I should make before the 29th of this month,
but I made something I thought at least might be deemed ‘good’, but hey, what do I know?

Could anyone give me any tips of this build here? Please be brutally honest.

First try Monk Build

With a stat allocation of Str/Spr/Con 3/1/1

I was thinking of being support for myself and one other person (may be others) as well as DPS. Cure at the start of the game is
literally so I can help out with damaging.

Any thoughts?

You’re a monk that is aiming for stable, physical damage with healing capabilities.

Set cure to lv 1. You don’t need it at lv10, since it will be useless once you invest in str. It’s only useful for getting rid of ailments.

Instead at cleric rank 1, invest in deprotect zone. This will be useful until you reach monkhood.

Invest Lv10 heal! If you want your team members to live longer, then this is a must.

Nothing to say about the priest set. Seems good.

As for the monk, try getting god finger flick at least one as a filler skill, though it’s just me

There’s also the combo with Deprotected Zone+Hand Knife, for another reason to get deprotect.
(First 8 seconds)

You may also want to consider just dropping Cleric2 for Priest 3, but I think it’s a bit overdone.
If you do stone skin will protect you from most physical damage, and is often considered overpowered.

Thanks!

Taken on board what you guys have said and edited that build slightly.

I did consider Priest C3 literally for the Stone Skin, the reason I didn’t was because of the extra Safety Zone blocks and the Divine Might that kicks up all skills by 5 levels. Thought those would trump Stone Skin.

My assumption is that DM does increase all skills by the amount you go for?

Thank you for your input. Guess I need to re-think what I want, DM was pretty integral to going Cleric C2 for me.

My girlfriend will go Wizard, so I was thinking of physical damage and support for her. So may be Paladin is a better route.

You forgot to add the Rank 7.
Btw, Spr is completly useless for Monks, you’ll mostly use your sta and there’s nothing really to good you can get out of it, it’s much better to invest on DEX instead.

Curious, what do you think would be good to support an AoE/DPS Wizard? My head’s stuck on Cleric because I know my wizzy companion will find any and all opportunities to die. XD

Mass heal looks so good with the Max HP % healing, I just don’t want to sit back and be full support. Being able to fend for myself at times would be nice.

Nope.

DM applies party wide to the next x skills used.
Where x is skill lvl.

Con is nice for pvp i’ll give you that much.
Dex has lost it’s shine past icbt2, lvl caps and all that.
And Str/Int get a lot better at higher level and rank anyway.
Spr is also a option for select cleric builds, usually chappy.

@Casey:
Chronomancers are one of the best supports for a wiz elementalist/high cd wiz.
Otherwise look into dievdirbys or paladin3 for pve, for pvp chaplain is a better bet.

Thanks for all your input! This has really helped me into figuring out which direction I’d like to go. Clicks <3’s for all

Decided that may be going Monk isn’t exactly what I want. Something more offensive but with a hint of support seems much more of what I’m looking for:

Druid 1

Druid 2

These are what I’m looking into at the moment. :smile_cat:
