Title basically says it all, log into the game, you already have 3 whispers from mmotank, all unblockable mirroring your name. Then you can expect new whispers every 45 to 90 seconds for the remaining time you are online.
You have to turn your chat off to play, and even that is terrifying atm because IMCs current anti-bot measures consist of an GM appearing once every 45 days to whisper players “are you a real boy”.
FIX THE NAMELESS WHISPERS jesus christ…

Agreed, it is freaking creepy how the bots are programmed to automatically whisper you the moment you get close to them. I mean what kinda spaghetti codes is IMC using?
This is why I make it a point to always stay away from the busy channels when I am in town. =.=
Next thing we know, our steam accounts will be stolen by bots.
sadly that doesn’t work, the moment they whisper you again it automatically closes out the top 5 tabs and highlights the 6th whisper tab along with displaying the whisper
Really? It does this for me without auto-jumping to the tab (It was at [2] just a few minutes ago):

But IMC spaghetti code force you to switch channel during a loading, sometimes. You are in channel 5 and when you go to town, suddenly you are in the channel 1 which is full as fuk. YEHHHH, LOGIC.

Ya honestly theres not much difference between the rmts and the world boss mafia. The mafia account shares and stays online 24/7 dominating every profitable world boss drop thus controlling the entire economy.
I don’t blame them though as sad as their lives are, its IMCs godawful cube distribution system that encourages that garbage. Their proposed debuff change will do nothing like usual, all those mafia players have 47 alts from the old extra attributes skill bug, when they all rolled new alts to get extra levels of anti air, quick cast damage etc, so they’ll just get the debuff on 1, hop to another etc etc.
Just to address the title of this thread… I think IMC all on their very own without help of bots have driven away plenty of customers. x3 300k HP bugs, boss/NPC hacks in Klap, little to no social interaction until 200+, onwards and forwards we go… These are all major things that were hardly addressed. Though I have known a few people to quit specifically over bots too.
Game is starting to look like a cash grab. Very little is being fixed. Just my two cents.

With knowledge from “friends” on other games if you purchase currency. The gold seller sites sell your in game name to other sites, and you receive more whispers/mail regarding such things.
May not be the reason for everyone but it is one of the possibilities.
Personally on TOS i think i have only received 1 or 2 whispers in total.
It was the case in FFXIV. But the gold sellers went further in that game. They examined the friends list of known gold buyers and targeted their friends too. I had a guy on my friends list who, later, admitted to buying gold and as a result my character was getting hammered with whisper spam more than other people I knew.
I eventually got him to unfriend me and after a couple months the whisper spam calmed down to tolerable levels.
