Max number of buffs! <Krivis considerations>

First of all, kindly correct if I am wrong but the limit on the number of buffs (for solo and party buffs) is 5.

I just realized that this is a very big problem for a party and even thought Krivis’ Daino might not sound great at first, it will be a requirement for a party that has a supporter class in it. This is because even though you have all the buffs needed, you cannot apply them all to your party without Daino. And this is talking only about the buffs you have and not yet considering the your party (like Corsair’s Jolly Roger) and their own solo buffs (you might override them upon casting a new one).

This is quite troublesome because you might be hurting your party than helping because everytime you cast a buff, you might override one that they really need and applied to themselves.

I will really appreciate anyone’s input on this.

i think i remembered som1 said they will up the limit to 8 (not sure), with just a solo priest alone would max 6 buffs…
-Aspersion
-Monstrance
-Blessings
-Sacrament (P2)
-Revive (P2)
-Stone Skin (P3)
(and this is just rank 4)

-they need to up it if just 1 of the class can go over the limit

I will be honest, this is a concern I share as well. The only “answer” I have currently is to make a Krivis / Pardoner alt so that my other character can function in a group.

It is honestly a decent idea, but feels like it is widely restrictive.

A limit on buff will certainly be tough to a party

@cedchasha I remember reading about that as well, but if I am not mistaken, that is for the last iCBT, it seems on the upcoming iCBT2, they will change it to a max for 5 instead since this is the one implemented on kCBT3.

It is kind of depressing to think that we are either forced to get at least Krivis rank 1 (that is 1 rank lost for anything else), or like @jmurphey14 said, have an alt Krivis/Pardoner which is more depressing

The main issue is between clerics buff interactions with essential buffs for other classes like swordsman and archers. Regardless, I think the developers want you to pick the right buffs for certain encounters rather than just pile all of them on. Also they did raise the buff limit but only for swordsman (my corsair could fill its entire buff line without any input by other classes).

I love that in this game you need certain class to do certain thing it’s definitely a plus!

If this is true, then you can be certain that you have to be careful on spamming your buffs.

At least, this limitation will require planning in a party

I understand the charm of smart buffing and not just throwing everything all at the same time. This is a challenge that is welcome for support types so everyone doesn’t just press all hotkeys for he sake of giving the buffs and your party seeing that you are doing something .

Beside, one doesn’t only support on this game, you have to do your share of damage as well since you have all those damaging skills as well.

My only problem really is the interaction of our buffs to other classes’ like @Midnightmare said. I certainly can plan all the 3-5 buffs that I need for a particular fight but it is kindly of hard to consider each and everyone’s own buff. Other class might also think that they don’t need support since just by themselves, they already cap the limit.

As a suggestion, maybe changing the limit mechanic, like separating solo and party buff limit might lessen the burden.

with max buffs around 5-8 (someone said they dropped it down to 5)

  • they should put a System like a “Buff Priority” like players can arrange which buffs is prioritize & will not be remove when getting new buffs
  • ‘while’ low priority Buffs will be remove if a Prioritize buffs is receive

Edit: specially Tank class (does not need damage but armors / blocks / evasions / damage reduct)
while DPS in a party only need Damage Boost

Right. Any changes or clarification will be most helpful right now.
@Midnightmare said that he/she didn’t have a problem stacking buffs for Corsair, so, we really need to know a clear mechanic on this.
What we need is actual game application, and that is what CBTs are for! XD
But for now, I need to create a new build with rank 1 Krivis for the upcoming iCBT2! (at least, I’ll have Zaibas now, thou I would really want something else)

I think it’s very well as it is, if you start doin things like that, people will ask then to see the red circle of attack without oracle then to be able to sell skill without pardonner then to be able to put tent without the squire, be able to make formation without the centurion etc…
I’am for ad Ced said a system where you select wich buff prioritize though, to be sure that your priest don’t erase one of your favorite buff that you bought at a pardonner 10 min ago…
