Max Level, End Game

Yer there was a Dev post that seemed to say that but I tend to think it was a weird translation. I recon the “hidden” classes will be “limited” by certain criteria but I very much doubt it will be just a flat number per server. >,< time will tell!

Luckily I’m casual so I can cruise by on other peoples hard earned information =P, it shouldnt be too long until ppl figure all the hidden stuff out.

I think you misunderstood me. I never said it was bad for an MMO to have an “end.” In fact, when did I ever say such a thing? Nearly all MMO do these days and it’s not such a bad thing. I’m just voicing my opinion that it gets stale, whether for people who will be in it for the long haul or leave after end-game. People get bored easily all the time, and what I meant was for the long haul, but other people are certainly free to leave if they wish after an unspecified amount of time playing. I can actually name a lot of MMOs that became “terrible” after being modified a lot of times.

No, they don’t. Once you kill the final boss, you keep farming because you know there will be some more content in the future. That’s the problem.

I think we have different interpretations of “end.” But fair enough, I agree your argument is valid too. It’s mostly applicable to linear and I do recall reading something about Tree of Savior being more exploration-based, although that part is actually still up in the air right now.

There is a difference here… I plan on trying to make at least 1 of each class. Real life that’d take me 12 years(following your 3 year novel example). I’d be 33 by the time i enjoyed 1/4(probably even less) of the classes/combinations this game has to offer.

no “end game” please. the game should start from level 1, not max level.

What’s wrong with end-game content? Raids, Woe etc can be a lot more fun than normal leveling because they require more skill and party coordination than a regular dungeon fight. I don’t think you should have to be max level to access any of these things, but a low level character just isn’t going to be strong enough or have enough skill points to contribute what’s needed.

How about they create a hidden rebirth class route after max level (basically go back to level 1 with perks). Of course, with how information is circulating nowadays, it won’t be hidden eventually. Lol.

I dunno… just blurting out thoughts. But really, everyone shouldn’t be max level unlike what a lot of people here want it to be. If you like it to be that way, then you’re more suited to those boring WoW imitation MMOs…

The problem with games focused on end-game content is that there’s usually nothing inbetween it. People just max out do raids to gear up then either PvP or do nothing. Though I don’t have any problem with raids though.

pls no. grinding 500 levels twice sounds crazy.

How would you guys feel about field events to take away some of the grind? Or challenging content like an Endurance Tower that has unique cosmetic rewards(through recipe drops or points accumulated) or special boss cards? There could probably be a ranking for it aswell based on time completion.

True, there would need to be enough end-game content that players didn’t feel “done” and had motivation to keep playing. But I also feel like there needs to be a reason to reach a high level besides personal satisfaction. Why keep grinding for more levels if progression is the same old stuff. Boredom seems a much bigger risk if all the content is the same and there’s little skill required, just tedium.

I like the idea of both of the suggestions you mentioned, especially events that require skill and team coordination.

I’m worried about how equipments matter much in the game. I don’t have anymore energy to farm and too bad luck brian when it comes to upgrading.
