Max Attack or Critical Chance?

Hi Guys, i’m with a terrible dilemma right now.

Just recently made my Regard Horn Pike, and I dont know which gems to use - 3x Red or 3x Green gem.

I’m Sw3, Hop3, Dragoon and Lancer, with Glass Mole cards and Finestra Lv 18.

I didn’t take stab because I like to one shot everything with a single hit, so my Hop 3 is just Finestra/Pierce/Spear Lunge/Spear throw.

I’ve been wondering, what would be the best choice: Get these 150 Critical Chance from 3 Green Gems or nasty 930 Max Attack.

Max Attack is a tricky status, so I consider it just being a 465 Physical Attack on average. The conclusions i’ve got so far is:

With Sissels x2 and extra 150 from gems, I’ll get near 670 Crit Chance (without any enchant), plus eventually an extra 150 from my Zalciai 15 Scrolls for bosses.

I think it will increase the critcal chance considerably, obvilously not like the previous full dex builds from pre-balance patch.

The other side of coin is:

465 Physical ATtack gets boosted by Glass Mole, so it will be 5 seconds (enough for all Lancer rotation + Pierce) with 891 extra Physical Damage.

Also there will be still some chance to pull off criticals, raising this number even further. On top of that, there is also the chance of getting a high value out of the Max Attack.

So…

Going for Max Attack and getting lucky with Criticals on Quintain, will surely be the best damage available. However, Critical Chance will even out the overall damage over the whole 5 second and the filler skills.

Anyone have an opinion on this subject?

As your base atk increases, crit gets more important than further atk increase. So with 0 enchantment and trans red may be better but with higher enchantment and trans green will be better. Going green seems to be better chase since you already have your regard pike.

u know how it is with lottery, u always lose if u gamble. so dont gamble with crits, go full power.

Crist are gone now, go for STR

Honestly is really depend by how much phys Atk you gona reach and also if you have crit damage or not.

-Lv7 red give you 310 (930 with 3) max attack or 465 damage overall.
-Lv7 green give 52 (156) crit rate (I think it close of a 7% or something)

People also say don’t try the rng of crit rate … But Max attack is also rng.
Crit rate will become stronger with more physical attack but if you don’t plan to reach a high transcend / weapon enhance then red are better.

Gems Not Stats. But yeah dex isn’t that great anymore except some for some build.

Red Gems are Cancer.
I would only go for red gems for Clerics since it works for matk/atk.
Red gems are more rng then crits.

And you got finestra…

I’m planning to stick with Regard for quite a long time, so i’ll transcend it to higher levels eventually. Currently +8 with Trans 2.

I have barely no Critical Attack, only from enchants, because i’m on 0 dex build

Why get RNG max damage on an item that will get more than that damage with transcendance? its very easy to get 50% crit if you know how to do the math and for me thats more consistent than 936max damage lol.

I´m pretty sure Crit atk work the same way as atk now.
This means it get multiply with skill% and glassmole should work too.

If i would have so much critrate on my char i wouldnt think about red gems.
More about getting more dex^^

Dex is extremely unnefficient for my build.

Attack Speed will only benefit Double Slash, Evasion will be still negative due to finestra, and Block Pen is useless since Initiate garantees nobody will ever block any of my hits.

Crit Attak Being boosted by Glass Mole is new to me, but I wouldn’t look for it, since it doesn’t contribute for any of the very high % skills from Lancer.

Crit Atk works on the skill scaling to.
Aswell on glasmolecards.
But i guess dex is more a thing for Doppel/Fencer.

If critatk would scale the same way as before the patch crit atk would be useless for everybody.

MY fencer Crits 250k with 2 Gm without crit barely 100k.
With 200dex and 60 str.

True, but not totally true. Crit atk works on the first part of damage formula, getting multiplied by skill factor together with physical attack whenever a crit happens. It doesn’t, however 9as far as all the testing i myself and many others have done) seem to affect the log part, so atk is stronger up to the point your atk/def ratio is eough to reach the ceiling multiplier of 100%.

Regarding glass moles, nope, they only multiply your physical atk, that’s actually a no brainer, it’s easy to see on your F1 window once you activate it.
