I don’t mind paying 500k to post something if it at least sells - but big ticket items can sometimes go unsold, waste of $$$. Unless I’m misunderstanding how the upfront deposit works.
I don’t think they changed the taxes from the beggining till now, it’s was always like that, but they will change this in the near future, read the dev blog for more info.
Blessed shard is used as trade currency, n my server 1 shard = 100.000 so many people prefer to anounce the item via shout and then trade for shards.

Yes, people do manage to sell things via shout chat, even if they’re expensive. People will usually trade other items of high values and currency items (like Shards) to get to the fixed price.
It can also be a way of selling via market and be SURE to sell it: they find their buyer via shout chat, but they will post it on the market (I don’t do it often, but when I do it I do take the fees into account for the final price or discuss about it with the one who wants to sell).
I think unless it’s a really demanded item that has high chances to be sold, randomly putting something at 10M isn’t really worth it with a 10% fees. It’s not like 1M is that excessive, but it’s annoying to lose money because of stupidly high fees.
