Make Cash Shop Items Tradable

So for all new games what usually concerns me is the cash shops. I think these are a great business model and have nothing against them unless of course it provides those who are willing to invest a ton of their money to get unfair advantages over others. Cosmetic items are always fine and I think Stat and Skill reset scrolls is also just fine. Even Exp boost scrolls as long as there is a level cap. My suggestion is to make the cash shop items tradable. This introduces items from the cash shop into the AH for those who maybe can’t afford to buy items from the cash shop. While also giving those who do have money a means to gain in game currency. Overall I think this stimulates the economy of the game, giving more value to in game currency and also slightly deters people from buying in game currency from farmers/botters because there is a safer legal means to get in game currency with your real money.

What are your thoughts?

I like this idea. But I would also like to have some items that you can’t trade.

I’m was going to list off some items that you should be able to trade and vice versa but I didn’t play the beta so I don’t know what kinds of items will be in the shop besides exp/coin boosts and cosmetics

edit: It would also be cool to have some shop items that you can only buy once you spend a certian number of hours in game. Or spent a certain amount of cash money. Small incentives are always good.

imo, as a player of many mmo, those cash shop items that tradable normally destroy economy. ofc, gold sellers are the main reason too.

Player buys CS Item, sell in high price.
Player buy that item, resell in much higher price.
Repeat.
???
Profit

Just my opinion. But hey, it depends on IMCGames or the publisher what to do.
Thanks for the Suggestion!

I think it is very hard to balance economy in a game. If you’ve played multiple servers in World of Warcraft for example, you can see this from server to server. Some servers AH are completely in control of the few with ridiculous amounts of gold that buy out everything and resell at higher prices. But more populated servers usually have a balance. I don’t think that being able to trade in game items would negatively effect the economy in that way because there will always be others to undercut you. So you can’t just continuously increase the price of items. Eventually (hopefully) the in game currency and cash shop currency will balance out to some ratio like 1000 gold is equal to 10 cash shop currency. Always fluctuating of course depending on demand of items. And kind of what I hoped to happen given that the cash shop items were tradable.

Artificially made ratio of course not actually purchasing in game currency.

I like the idea of standing out too for cosmetic items. I think achievement based items for cosmetics would be neat. Having to kill a certain boss or number of bosses to be able to purchase a cosmetic item to stand out would be nice.

I like the idea of tradable cash item. But there should be a option to bound the item if you want to. Like either a lock item, or first one to use it it become bound type thing. Consumables should be 100% tradable but cosmetics should be bound when use first time. I also prefer if they have a option to preview it before we equip it. There should be a consumable that enable trades again for some items. This way we can prevent like someone hacking our account and being able to trade all our stuff instantly. Should also add level based items and also the ability to buy certain items after you have reach a certain level.
