Make AFK farm a bannable offense and remove all the dupe/cheating/exploits and open a NEW server

Then I’ll come back and even buy a subscription, right now is a joke that you pretend to make us play with exploiters, AFK farmers and all of that scum like nothing happened, yeah, I don’t think so, your game economy is damaged permanently until you do a wipe or open a new server after implementing Bans to AFK farmers and get rid of all the possible exploits in the game.

This will be a high quality thread I’m sure.

Yes indeed…

Are you still sane? :v

Well he does have a point. Inflation is massive because of how much gold AFK farming put into the world. This game’s economy, due to design, was already terrible and at this point it’s like… super deadedz to death. A wipe would probably kill the game and new servers wouldn’t really solve anything though.

No need to worry. Neither exploiters and AFK farmers stick around for long, every one I’ve identified leaves shortly after.

Why? Because they don’t enjoy the underlying mechanics of the game. The game becomes a point-and-click adventure for exploiters as there’s zero challenge (zero fun). AFK farmers clearly don’t enjoy the progression mechanics either…

Not that they bother me anymore anyway because while they AFK for pennies each night the best of us are farming 3m+/hr. That’s where market inflation is really coming from, and no wipe is going to fix that.

Either have fun with the vast majority of honest players or don’t.

You can’t really “fix” AFK farming, and implementing a “rule” won’t change anything. Also, don’t lump AFK farming in with “dupe/cheating/exploits” as those are completely different things.

A new server doesn’t make any sense except for new players, but they also want to keep the new players in with the old players because its better for the cohesion of the game environment. So that probably also wouldn’t make any sense. Players that want to “start over from scratch” are a super-low minority of the playerbase, and this “new server” would just become Orsha 2.0.

I agree that fun goes hand-in-hand with hardship in this game but…

3m/hr

Raw silver? :o teach me master

I think responding with carefully considered and well written explanations as to why someone is over-reacting gets a bit old after you’ve made the same response 15 times without it really changing opinions or attitude much.

These threads are completely lost causes completely not worth putting effort into. I’m going to reserve effort-posts for effort-threads.

The whole afk farming discussion has been done to death. Despite the fact that we’ve had actual developers say that it’s an intentional part of the game and won’t be removed and is perfectly ok for players to do as long as there’s no automation involved, people still act like afk farmers are somehow cheating. There’s no sense in arguing about it with them when something so clear has been put to us previously.

@Feelstasta

Myri is an SR3. They won’t be able to farm that much so easily/quickly after the update I hear.

Oh I see. Ah yeah, Sr3 farms like a turbocoaster -.-. Now you’ll be back on the ground with us mere mortals.

How about… you just leave, you know for good. Im not talking about quit the game but stick around to Troll, Im talking about I just broke up with my GF and dont care if she dies tommorrow kind of leave.

Yes it’s SR3. My best haul recently is 3.5m in 1hr (not pure silver, but mainly collecting mats and selling them raw or craft-and-sell using other mats from market. No golden mobs). You can add half hour to that for buffs / travel / market screen if you like.

The problem is, you can’t do it continuously in one area as it’s heavily reliant on market activity and competition (there was no competition for the above on that occasion, and it took a couple of days for that to go through the market).

You have to learn what’s selling, what’s absent form the market, where things drop etc. It needs a good farming class and some exploration, and sometimes it’s not successful (you can add hours for all this too if you like). But it’s one of the things I enjoy in the game.

IMC dont have the intention to remove them because if they do they will not exist today.

Just because their IGN are different doesnt mean they will also be different people using them. Those botters are still the same people using different account.

Of course newbies will be disgusted by the sight of it and IMC dont see anything wrong with it like always.

Im always amuse with these people defending AFK botting.

Not sure if sarcastic or not. If not where exactly has this been said.

  1. Implementing a rule will make honest players stop AFK farming.
  2. AFK farming can be considered as exploiting abnormal monster AI, botting or anything like that, depends on point of view. It doesn’t change the fact that AFK farming is just as similar to bot farming.

The users complains about it because #2, implementing a rule and putting it into action simply makes honest people stop doing it, even if one step at a time.

I’ve read on kToS thread that summons starts losing HP if you stay inactive, after patch. If that’s true it’s clear that they have the intention to remove them.

I hope it’s true and that this stop soon |:

But I do agree on complaining and discussing about how bad AFK farming is. This way IMC sees how we don’t like it, they’re listening us more lately after all :3

Beats me. It’s just plain ignorance to think of it as anything more than a matter of class balance. It’s in the game, why would people consider it cheating? That’s not to say it’s a bad feature. All I have against afk farming is it might inflate the value of silver but I think dungeon farming has already done that. Oh well.

IMC won’t make a rule saying that AFK farming isn’t allowed, because then they’ll have to fix the shitty AI in the game. Otherwise they are literally saying “The one thing your class is capable of doing is no longer allowed, and good luck using your class otherwise because we would rather just say that the absolutely horrible AI is intentional then to ever fix it.”

Just because one class is bad it doesn’t mean you should allow behavior similar to botting with the class. Everything has its downsides. A Necromancer farms things currently better than Sadhu and Sadhu can’t do it. That’s just a moot point.

So long as monsters drop silver, there is no “fixing the economy”.

Botting happens because games like this are designed in a way that they are easily botted. The fact that a legitimate, albeit annoying means, exists and has been hand-delivered to the players straight from the developers - is the reason you trying to say “doesn’t mean you should allow behavior SIMILAR to botting” is completely moot. There’s not even a point in talking about it. If bots were fly-hacking you would probably try to say FF should lose its levitation. It’s ridiculously silly, because you’re being ridiculously silly.

You have to face the music. There won’t be anything done about AFK farming necro’s until necro’s themselves are corrected. You can say “just make a rule and ban them without ever doing anything to correct them!” all you want - but you’re just talking into the void.
