Tree of Savior Forum

Maintenance: "Main Changes"

This is especially sad when you see people just shining with hope and excitement before first beta, and watch it just…dissolve before your eyes.It used to actually be exciting to come here. Can you even imagine that?

I’ll at least stick around to see which version of a Santa outfit I can get.[Halloween costumes would be nice too, actually…]

Basically this for me as well.Never touched RO,was too into Trickster Online and not into the pay to play model at the time. Was googling an anime MMO to get into [because it had been years since I played one] and found this forum. The rest is history…but I think many people set their expectations sky high because that past success was in their heads as well as nostalgia.

Kinda weird to jump into the train after it’s crashed…although it wasn’t on the tracks for that long…

Until you realize that the changes they’re making are cherry picks from other patches on ktos.

Which means IMC is actively choosing to not update skills for classes.

They’re choosing to not implement balance changes from ktos and open PvP.

Hell, they’re not even choosing to fix the bug of ET floor 7. Or fixing losing your mount when you die on SR/Cata.

This means that all the changes made to ktos to make it a better game won’t come here. IMC chooses what comes here.

So iToS will forever be the awful version of kToS.

Yeah kToS has a lot more patches, but if they don’t give an official statement about it we can just guess why.

@FlanFlan i’ve never really gotten into mmos before but i thought i finally found the one, so i know how you feel. It’s really sad watching so many people dissatisfied with a game i love, it’s even sadder that i can’t really blame them for their dissatisfaction. The part that really gets me is ktos gets decent patches, so they are just intentionally witholding this content from us. I don’t know if arena and ktos patches would really be enough to make people happy but it must be better then what we’re getting now.

I’m getting tired of this ■■■■ from IMC. After 910 hrs ingame maybe it’s time for a hiatus.

I quite agree. All that keeps me going for now is the class system and my itch to try whichever I end up interested in. But indeed, the game’s definitely growing stale from the lack of massive updates. I’d still give IMC some time or some leeway, I guess, but wow do the kTOS updates make me jelly.

Yup, pretty much. It was okay back when I decided to splurge on some money to be on the founders server, but right now… blargh. I don’t miss the constant delays, though.

Ah, Trickster. I enjoyed my time there. Too bad it’s dead now; I was hoping to get back to leveling my cat there after my interest in the game was rekindled.

Never really had much expectations in the first place, but when hype happens I always end up joining the train. It’s contagious. So when things turn out to be a trainwreck… yeah…

I played RO in my teenage years and I loved it. As far as I remember I never even made it to maxlevel. I just loved exploring the world and collecting headgear. After RO I played a lot of other MMOs, mostly the big titles … WoW, SWTOR, GW2, FFXIV, Wildstar …
When I first heard of TOS I was kind of exited, because I still have fond memories of RO, even if it had no big story or quests or dungeons or whatever. But TOS tries to be something inbetween … it’s not just as simple and fun as RO was, but for me it also fails to compete with the big MMO titles out there, because (at least in my opinion) they do all the “modern” stuff like questing and dungeons better than TOS does it. :disappointed_relieved:

Yeah ToS is not as unique as RO so people tend to compare it more to the “big” MMORPGs not realizing that this is not a $50M budget MMORPG.

But it’s also how the players have changed.

If the original RO was launched today, you can bet that the forums would be full of “Where are the quests?” “I don’t know what to do” “This game is only grind” and “The position lag is horrible” complaints too.

It’s not IMC’s fault. It’s Nexon’s fault. Their contract has some time limit bullshit of what content is allowed to be transferred over to here and what isn’t after a specific period of time passes yadayadayadada.

Also, @FlanFlan , if you didn’t play Ragnarok, then most people are praising it for what it was after a couple of years, it wasn’t all “oh my god best game ever sUNSHINE AND RAINBOWS I LOVE IT SO MUCH”. They’re honestly just letting nostalgia blind them just as how people state the 1st generation of pokemon games were the best games ever. They weren’t. Ragnarok started off as MORE of a ‘depressing trainwreck’ then ToS did, notorious for being buggy as hell. Like most games, they get better as time goes on, and it will be the same for ToS

Well we all know ToS is going downhill with the amount of toxicity in the community and slow updates…

At this pace i highly doubt they can get on track… they might just abandon the international version and work on kToS…

while…i am just gonna continue licking my gems to see if anything comes out

Proof? I mean it’s not impossible, but what gain does Nexon have from that if they only have publishing rights for Korea anyway? Are they scared that Koreans go play on iToS otherwise? Isn’t there an IP block?

I can’t talk about alpha / closed beta, but I RO was already great at euRO open beta. And the bugs it had at that time like position lag, it still has now.

In fact I think RO was greatest when Kim Hakkyu was still with the team. When he left it got worse and worse, especially with the renewal update.

I actually played when RO was still pretty new. Maxlevel was 99 and when I started we didn’t have 2-2 classes. I never played RO later with all the Rebirth and Renewal stuff.
I don’t remember it being overly buggy, but then again … compared to today, I had no clue about computers and games back then.

I support this message. Ragnarok was a mess, confusing, too little content, slow development. And right now coming straight from ROVU (mobile RO), seeing the devs do ANYTHING AT ALL feels like a breath of fresh air.
People really need to chill. It’s not supposed to be perfect, Nexon holds most of the blame on this one, and their agreement appears to have some sort of time limited exclusivity clause we’ll go around eventually.

Not so much on the pokemon part, simplicity is what made those games great, something even remotely less approachable back in '96-'97 wouldn’t have been so accepted by its player base (mostly kiddies).

Ro had way bigger bugs than tree of savior has… I can confirm atleast 10 different duplication techniques to get unlimited items went years unfixed. Unlimited zeny glitches… They never fixed the glitch they just restricted mail box. Easy game to scam on, posistion lag ontop of nonstop lag. Might now have fps drops but you could walk and then 5 seconds later your whole party is off screen and you went back in time lol. Not to mention bots were more seen than on here do me a favor… Log onto iro and go to payon nothing but bots at kafra restocking then going to the spore fields or farming phen cards… People who think tos has a bad bot problem obviously never played RO. Spammers on there pm you where a window pops up in middle of screen  ro had so many problems i could go on and on but yet it was an amazing game i still play time to time. So this game is far from dead

Edit: even in ROs prime around 20-50k players on IRO that wasnt real population they allowed multi client use so on average each person had 2-3 clients open which would accumulate to around the same population we have now i IToS… People are quick to hate on stuff that every korean based game thay goes international deals with like 4 montjs behind on patchss and what not

Transferable cards is a huge sorc buff since world boss loot is impossible and I have bad luck getting them from dungeons on him. Too bad 0 sorc bug fixes. Still can’t use riding auto attack.

20-50k? i think 5k is the max.
And indeed…
5000 users:
Every user playing double or triple log like a one man party with personal priests in autofollow. 5000/2: 2500
Prontera is crowed with AFK Merchants and bot Spam/ Merchants, just like 300 or 500.
At least 1000 bots.
AFKchemist

The total population can be something like 1000 real users.

We already have our own region specific nerfs. There is nothing stopping iToS from having its own class balances. If they were willing to test changes on kToS, they can do so here and it would be applauded.

Forums dwellers look more like 12 years old crybaby than civilised users. Imagine you have to pay 60$ for the title and $5/ month for PSN, Xbox Live only to find out your promised and overhyped game has so little content, poor campaign and unbalanced PvP. Now that’s cute

Finally someone who gets it.

I’d like to add that PEOPLE make the game. An MMORPG is special because of the MMO part. Without friends, questing and partying together it’s just another RPG.

So let’s stop focusing on all the negative and let’s build a fun experience together!

Totally agree with that. It’s also very rare to see an official game forum that allows these kind of posts without any limit. Almost no posts get deleted by moderators.
