isn’t that just relying on what you want to do, how high your attack and how high the defense value of the enemy is?

Sumazinti will be boosted to reduce the enemies magic defense by 25% or 30% for 15 seconds.

Meanwhile Kraujas will stay at maximum +100% additional damage for 20 seconds.

if you use 3x cards with +10% damage each, the value of Kraujas will be reduced by 23% (+130% compared to +30% is only a 77% overall damage increase) as you only gain a total boost of +77% damage compared to without Kraujas.

The more boosts to attack you have,the lesser the impact of Kraujas actually is.

So to calculate which one you want to use is to know what you want to do with it.

In general, normal monsters are dead within 1-2 skills, so you’ll usually not need the legend set for basic farming.
It’s more used for boss farming.

Now let’s check how much Sumazinti is actually worth against level 330+ high grade bosses.
I’ll list the total mdef first and in [brackets] behind it the value that Sumazinti reduces [25%/30% respectively]

Unique Skiaclipse mdef: 16765 [4191/5029]
legendary Skiaclipse mdef: 23838 [5959/7151]
Velcoffer mdef: 19922 [4980/5976]
Demon Lord Zaura/Rexipher/Marnox/Blut mdef: 32129 [8032/9638]
Demon Lord Helgasercle/Mirtis/Nuaele mdef: 46720 [11680/14016]

Since the damage calculation formula divides the attack by the defense of the enemy, reducing the enemies defense will result in a better outcome than actually adding the same amount of attack to the formula.
E.g. we fight Velcoffer and have 14.000 magic attack.
A magic attack will create the following modifier: 14000/19922=0.7027
Now if you reduce his defense with Sumazinti, you’ll have the following modifier instead: 14000/14942 = 0.9369
That’s about as much as an attack increase of ~4665 against the initial defense (19922).

Let’s look at a fight vs Nuaele,too:
14000/46720 =0.2996
14000/35040 =0.3995

That’s about as much as an attack increase of ~4665 against the initial defense (46720).

So this means at around 14.000 attack a 25% magic defense cut is about worth as much as a 33.32% attack increase.

at 10.000 matk it is worth 66.92% of your attack, at 18.000 attack it’s worth 33.31% of your attack,etc.

However, once your attack increases over the value of the enemies defense[with or without Sumazinti defense reduction included], the value decreases.
E.g. with 18000 magic attack, if you fight against Velcoffer, the magic defense decrease will only result in a modifier increase which is equal to 20.46% of your attack.

Now let’s use the official damage formula [ damage = (% increase factor) x attack x min {1, log10 ((attack / (defense + 1))^0.8 + 1)} + (+ increase)] for some real numbers to compare both sets.
As a prerequisite, we’ll assume to have +30% damage from red cards (race/element).

Let’s test for Velcoffer first:

With Kraujas[+130% increase]: damage = 2.3 x 10.000 x min {1, log10 ((10.000 /19.923))^0.8 + 1)} + (+ increase) =
2.3 x 10.000 x 0.1976 + 0 = 4544 damage for a 100% SFR attack

With Sumazinti base[+30% increase]: damage = 1.3 x 10.000 x min {1, log10 ((10.000 /14943))^0.8 + 1)} + (+ increase) = 1.3 x 10.000 x 0.2368 + 0 = 3078 damage for a 100% SFR attack

this means Kraujas in this constellation deals about 47.62% more damage than Sumazinti.

With Sumazinti with Dragon Energy 1[+30% increase]: damage = 1.3 x 10.000 x min {1, log10 ((10.000 / (13946))^0.8 + 1)} + (+ increase) = 1.3 x 10.000 x 0.2471 +0 = 3212 damage with 100% SFR
Kraujas deals 41.47% more damage than Sumazinti in this constellation.

I’ll put down the same test values for the demon lords, feel free to recalculate and correct my errors if you find some:

Demon Lord Zaura/Rexipher/Marnox/Blut:
Kraujas: 3312
Sumazinti: 2270
Sumazinti [DE]: 2375

Kraujas = 45.90%/39.45% more damage

Demon Lord Helgasercle/Mirtis/Nuaele:
Kraujas: 2553
Sumazinti: 1764
Sumazinti [DE]: 1849

Kraujas = 44.73%/38.07% more damage

For 16000 attack, we get the following picture:

Velcoffer:
Kraujas: 9737
Sumazinti: 6512
Sumazinti [DE]: 6770

Kraujas = 49.52%/43.83% more damage

Demon Lord Zaura/Rexipher/Marnox/Blut:
Kraujas: 7235
Sumazinti: 4903
Sumazinti [DE]: 5108

Kraujas = 47.56%/41.64% more damage

Demon Lord Helgasercle/Mirtis/Nuaele:
Kraujas: 5652
Sumazinti: 3867
Sumazinti [DE]: 4041

Kraujas = 46.16%/39.87% more damage.

As you can see, the more your attack increases, the less of an advantage Sumazinti has.
However, that only applies for single player setting.
In a party setting, where people can bring damage boosts in form of buffs (e.g. lied des weltenbaumes) or debuffs (e.g. death sentence), the advantage of Kraujas shrinks away.
Of course, the opposite is true if you have people who bring defense reduction debuffs (e.g. rune of destruction), which lowers the individual worth if stacked, compared to Kraujas.

Last but not least, for a party setting, we have to remember that there is also the danger of capping the +400% additional damage through debuffs by others, especially on large-scale content like demon lords or Boruta, so in these situations, it might be better to have a Sumazinti set.

Other than that, you have to decide for yourself if the on average 40-50% additional damage by Kraujas over Sumazinti are worth the investment.

With new boosts incoming for the Savinose and Skiaclipse sets, it might be smarter to take Sumazinti for now and rather invest into a lvl 400 Smugi set later on to have better defense and no offensive merits compared to Kraujas (my opinion, maybe better to wait until the info is released on the 8th of August and make a choice then).

it isn’t all about the thread, but the damage reduction wasn’t:
(log10(attack/defense +1))^0.9?
it was mentioned on ktest thread recently, so i m quite confused now.
