Mage is too op?

naw not really - zero shield is overpowered

you dont have a plague doctor all the time babysitting you tho - cant rely n other classes to be more or less effective - besides oracle is in my view the best supportive class ever - never wanna miss a day without an oracle by my side <3

but you said mages in general have 0 utility - you didn say ā€œfull pve focused dps magesā€ ofc they got 0 utility cause they focus on dps not being viable in pvp - if you choose to go that path than its the guys decision to sacrifice ā€œeffectivenessā€ in pvp for dps in pve - i eat up ele/warlocks by using 1 finger cause theyre trash in pvp - but to be fair i also eat up any swordsman class cause theyre just perma frozen or stunned and cant do anything (hi balance) - but it would be wrong to nerf such a class - cause those or choose to go that path cant go back from it…their only real use is pvp if theyre being nerfed and loose their purpose its a dead class/character - and as mentioned above my build seems to have a counter in flatcher… icant deal with those or its more like ā€œwho lands the first skillā€

What skill reduce magic damage ? AFAIK only Pardoner magic def . According to damage calculation it’s only reduce tiny amounts.

neutralize ? you mean Oracle Counter spell

Wuff ? Phys skill easy to counter, don’t say counter you can’t even damage enemy with Stone skin & it’s a PARTY buff.
With full con you get 400++ Block, how you can say harder while the true is it’s so EASY.

Compare 2 Cleric buff :
Magic Reduce damage = pardoner Magic def Lvl 15 = 260+ spr
CD almost twice duration
Phy Reduce damage = Aspersio lvl 15 = +48% def
low CD long duration

Both prevent damage :
Revive Immunity, Mackangdal, Statue of Goddess Ausrine, Sterea Trofth
all of that have short duration, long CD ( except Sterea )

While with Priest 3 + Chaplain = Permanent immunity to physical damage.

I think other class do need some sacrifire too(especially sw class) perhaps more than mages do.
deep down for me it’s not fair or my classes are sucked(SW class i know that it’s suck).
and they nerf SW(the hell?).

I dont know about pvp but im talking about pve. Sure full dps mage loses utility but at the very least QS have running shot which is a very good utility and their dps isnt failing. Outright beat mages in dps and hit and run tactic and not to mention high dodge rate cuz of swift step they have some good stuff w/o any drop of dps. So just look at mage lower dps with literally nothing maybe sleep but just as useless with flying mobs. Going for utility? Lose alot of dps late game. Archer just lack abit of aoe which could cover by any linker which just make them so strong. Every dungeon i run they just clear everything i dont even need to move an inch lol.

Edit other class need to sacrifice some dps or either utility to cover but archer loses nothing at all

the counter spell, it’s work like any magic circle include AOE skills are nullify, include heal(cleric c2 10+10 magic circles) and work only 35 magic circles and here you go CD supra long.

I don’t play mage cuz they’re just swordsman that can do the equivalent of swordsmen autoattacks with 30 second cooldowns and SP problems. Tree of Cooldown

basically Physical attack will be higher in end game but sacrifire their tank abilities.

Magic attack will be just that untill the end , but no need to sacrifire almost anything.

Well that cd is just pissing me off lol 30 sec for a skill? Not to mention 1 min and 30 sec for a metor lol and yes the mana burning is real my silver is dropping fast

I mean CC is necessary, but perma-CC is just plainly broken.

Try leveling an archer, it’s harder that it looks. You chug pot like crazy by spamming oblique shot or any other skills, that is archers sacrifice.

You think mage sacrifice cooldown? With current respawn system, you just kill everything in a spot, then go to other spot to lure (and have skill off cooldown) then kill everything again.

FIrst off, we need a clear split between PvE and PvP. At the moment I don’t think there’s one (e.g. every skill works the same in PvP and PvE), which really can’t be this way for long. CC skills in general obviously need to have lower duration and better ways to counter in PvP, but are rather fine if not underpowered in PvE (cause the best CC is death, and CC does literally nothing against bosses).

And secondly, there’s no reason to balance PvP unless we’re talking endgame, which we don’t have access to yet. So the only thing that makes sense to balance at the moment is the leveling process, e.g.: making sure that classes of equal rank have about the same utility (not necessarily dmg output/survivability, but rather a more subjective utility concept of general usefullness).
