With this many classes, I am more inclined to compare this to a Card Game building a deck. The meta is ever changing depending on what is popular and they need to adjust decks to counter it.
In our case, for us to build a new “deck”, we have to level up to 225+ and see if it is viable. Not gonna happen.
Yes this comparision is right, theres no point in risking our time in a build that may not work
and these builds, people should try it, if if they were not confronting they progress in the game for a build

My mistake is that I compare this game to ragnarok where all your characters grew together and here you have to start from zero with each one
But you are totally right players tastes are subjective and IMC should not be focusing in a minor complaint

If it is so ez to get to 280 like you said, what’s wrong with making a new char? Since it is so ez according to you to get to 280 + get all the gear and achievements within the same time frame.

You want to make a new build that fit your playstyle but then suddenly remember there is nothing to make sure your favorite build will be viable. Not mention the lack of contents made it worst (game keep throwing bosses to u)

You gonna have hard time if you don’t like one of those meta classes (example: DPS swordsman without pelt, pet classes and summoners…) It was difficult to find a storage party if you aren’t DPS, pelt, healer,(chrono sometime)…when world bosses appear, it will remind you that you aren’t going to get the cube because you aren’t dps or you don’t have decent raid team.
We have to wait for IMC to solve these problems, it take a lot of time. At least seeing them slowly giving buff to underdog classes and fix the world boss problem gimme some hope.

Well the game a kind of unfair if you haven’t researched for the class skill and their abilities before u play…
Imagine we are playing this ToS without any forum, Simulator and wiki, we are so screwed not knowing what our decision are in choosing the classes.
Yes, they did show the skills when we can advance job, but the skill levels description and attributes are hidden until u pick it up… Then u regret that actually there is a better class with better chemistry together.
I’m fine with no class reset, but please add an in-game simulator.

Skill description is different from Experience. There are skills that looks very imbalanced or enticing yet falls short of its expectation.
How these skills interact with mobs, how viable they are of its usage, how do they combo with the others circles and are they worth having this much of skill points?
Most importantly, does this fit your playstyle? It is hard to have fun if you are not enjoying the build you have made.
well, because unless u… i have a larger view of the situation,
hitting 280 is easy yes… i did it in around 500 hours (not only rushing lvls)
but its still alot of time and effort to invest into a build (i cant even call it a character).
its completely easy to understand my point in here.
rerolls means restart all over again. in another words give a sh!t in the progression.
its not what i want for me. no offenses
also im not here to prove thats its easy to lvlup… we are all different.

Those who are lvling a Meta build and know they will be much more useful than a random build.

Those who still have no idea how important is to have a Meta build in this game.
The problem in investing in a No Meta build:
- Risking to be the guy who no ones invite for anything
- Avoiding some areas like PvP, Pve (Boss), (areas Grinding i mean AoE Dmg) because will be a point in the game they will realize the build they did invested, doesn’t work in most situation.
- simple fact that what they did, doesn’t correspond as they wishes. (some people maybe heavy be dissapointed with they choises).
- will be a time in the game they will get tired of creating new characters, and then will give up because they didn’t accomplished any results.
The problem in investing in a Meta build.
- Any, u can go ahead, it works in most situation… and its a good start.
- feels secured in they choises,IMC will not reduced the damages of the classes who are supposed to damage < same for the Tank who is supposed to tank alot, and for the healer who is suppsoed to heal the most
- not able to make crazy builds like a Full STR Tank < funny af or Max STR Wizard XD (for me this should be the coolest part of the game) thing everyone could profit.
my view:
Well having Meta Builds is cool of course, (but its not good for the game)
but still, it doesn’t means that it works in most situation as i said, its just a way to secure a confortable end game.
Having resets stuffs, people should try as many builds as they wish, and not lose they progress in the game
Hitting 280 maybe easy, but its not hitting lvl 280 with a charcater but with a build
also may i say that 280 is just the beginner? as the rank 7
Not having resets, theres a risk of investiment in the game, and players will get tired in a point, because the only survival 280 will be these who invested in a solid build
Its much more fun if everyone could have the 4 basic classes and try rise em to max lvl, not taking care of a single build choise, than be forced to make solids decision in the game, to avoid the risky of trying new stuffs.
thats all im trying to say in here…

Hmm let me rephrase it for you.
There are 2 kinds of players in the game.

The first type are those who rolls meta or non-meta characters. No matter which side they choose the grass is always greener on the other side, and thus they are forever not satisfied and blame the community/game/developers for their dissatisfaction.

The second type are those who just enjoy the game no matter they roll meta or non meta characters. They find joy in playing, partying with other players and are generally happy to group with/use both meta/non-meta builds.
And another thing, I do respect your opinion that what is fun and what is boring for you. Do understand that what works for you might not work for others. Some players prefer resets while others prefer the game to be keep as is, as what the developers intended it to be.
When you offer your opinion, you will like others to respect your views. Calling others with derogatory remarks when their views are different will only make your opinions have lesser value… since if you don’t respect what others think then why should they extend the same to you.

thats the point, they are satisfied with they meta build of course, but wish to do new builds not to lose they progress in the game
we dont want to invest alot of effort lvling a build, its not interesting for us
these will enjoy everything anyway… they are called fanboy in others words… no offenses

there are people in here who invested in a meta build,
and they dont want any reset because they know they build decision are stronger than a random one
i can’t just stand in here… making new characters looking for new meta builds to secure my progress in the game… its not even me, its for us. and its not funny neither much more in a game with many ways to build
