lvl 170+ barbarians how is life at near CBT end game content versus other classes?
pve content isnt difficult (never was to begin w/). i dunno if this is a grass is always greener on the otherside thing or not but i definitely feel like all the other trees got massive power spikes at r5+ and im plateauing. tldr barb3 is trash; having hl2 would have been better
One of the worst boss damaging classes at 170+. Pretty lame damage against elite mobs, but high survivability.
But I guess you can’t expect much in terms of damage from a rank 3 class. The utility and buffs are okay.
I’m pretty sure saying barb isn’t the most OP class in the game is illegal, dude.
I’m sure people will start to notice past 170 anyway.
That boss had really low HP to begin with anyway. Not sure why.
if you level a barb and any other class to 100 you will notice, barb = easy mode .
if u notice the title of the thread reads “Lvl 170+ barbarians how is life at near CBT end game content versus other clases?”
yah im prediciting lvl 300+ content is going to meta Hoplite Finestra + Dragoon r7 Combo for swordsman class
easy as hell all the way…
What a joke, that quest boss is meant to be one shot. Has nothing to do with barb, here is a Krivis that does it:
I can make a random class and auto attack it to death in 5 hits.
I can agree that barb is easier to play than any other class, but falls off very hard past 170. No one’s going to care that it can reach 100 somewhat easier than other classes when there’s 350 levels, and 500 levels eventually. And anyone that believes a rank 3 class such as barb will continue having such an easy time when people start unlocking rank 6+ classes will be in for even more of a surprise.
Atm, the meta is going to be picking up utility/buff classes earlier on, and damage classes later. (unless they start scaling more skills, but IMC seems to be aiming for the lategame balance instead) Personally I plan to revise my build and probably do Peltasta > Barb 2 > Corsair 2 to get much more of a benefit. Barb still has a very easy time early on, so it’s a nice pick up that will also give a +50 crit chance buff, and 2 stuns on an overheat.
Even if the damage severely falls off later, corsair makes up for it with 2 very hard hitting skills, and eventually I plan to run shinobi.
Why not Highlander > Hoplite 2 > Corsair 2 > Shinobi/Dragoon (for full DPS)? Well, for bossing it’s better for me at least. Played Barb, reached 150, and somewhat harder to manage against bosses (the only skill I rely on is HL’s Cartar Stroke and that’s it), although somewhat better at mobbing department (dat overkills). Going on Hoplite 2 > Corsair 2 will make you a full pierce dealer type class isn’t it? From what I see, Slash is good against mobs while Pierce is good against bosses? CMIIW, wanted to create new character based from Hoplite and is looking for insight for now. Also need more information about Shinobi’s Katon no Jutsu or Kunai attack attribute. While Kunai will most probably be piercing damage, I have no idea about Katon no Jutsu. If it is based on our phy attack, it should have attribute damage seeing it comes from Swordsman branch imo.
In general this game has had pretty much the same from boring things from lvl 1 to lvl 200.
To truly answer your question, I would have to personally play all other the classes to max aswell.
i see, on other note sadly as much i like the fencer costume i dont like its skills sets
I actually died to that boss
I loved the fencer costume, and I agree the skills are kind of lame. It’s more of a class that supports your other skills. Hopefully C2 is actually something nice.
I plan to be playing in a full party 99% of the time, so I won’t really have issues with bossing. Hoplite 2 has a requirement of wearing a spear for finestra, which is great if you want to go Dragoon, but Shinobi doesn’t seem like they can use spears.
The real reason I went Corsair 2 after Barb 2 was:
- More damage types
- Minor CC
- Looting on corsair, might be very beneficial once the silver from drops is nerfed in OBT
- More skills in general than Barb 2/3, which means more overall damage, and more things to do other than auto attacking.
- I really want to see if double weapon assault + shinobis clones is any good.
I could do hoplite 2, but if I can’t really use finestra, I feel like it’s a waste.
I think that’s amazing.
It is not 50% crit chance, rather +50 flat crit chance
Welp, fair enough. Katon no jutsu will most probably require Swords equiped while Kunai will require you none imo judging from how the skill worked. Thanks for the info.
I watched the trailer often too see what kind of weapon shinobi use as far as i can tell its a sword + karacha dagger. Which means shinobi will not have a special weapon (probaly). Its a good thing actually so you can be sure that you can use all skills you learned so far.
Off topic: Question about Restrain from sword c2 does it stun with auto attacks and/or with skill.
