Low-end Laptop player, question on resolution

Hi guys,

I’ve looked around for tips on increasing fps on my lappy and have implemented them already.

Just one thing I’d like to ask, is it possible to change the resolution into lower than what the in-game setting offers by changing the values in the user.xml file?

Thanks

what are your laptop specs?_?

OS: Windows 10
Processor: Intel Core i5-3230M @ 3GHz (4 CPUs)
Memory: 4GB
DX 11
Graphics: Intel HD 4000, 1366x768

Here ya go

You can try that, it may or may not improve tbh, despite the game have a 2D look, some stuff still in 3D being processed (map structure).

What i already tried is, turn off in-game settings, like V-Sync, FXAA to use the driver counterpart, not sure if Intel Graphics have that tho, i did on my GTX660M driver, improved a well after the optimization patch, but the next patches broke the optimization so it is back to square 1.

Not sure if you tried change the models percentage in the xml file.
DrawMonsterPersent=“99” <— This is the monsters, 99 means all the mob will be shown, mine is 35 and still cause bad stuttering every now and then.
DrawActorPersent=“99” <----- These are the players (not sure if it count for NPCs) i set mine to 50, so in cities i don’t have to be lock down due to 0.x fps, stuttering at cities are common in my case, but still, it shouldn’t lol

I’ve set my DrawMonster and DrawActor to 40 and 20 respectively, yet to go into game to see any results. Was hoping to get the right ratio of low resolution from players who are in a similar position as I am atm.

It will vary from one to another, depending on how much RAM you got so you can set the video memory as higher as possible and what processor you got, so it can process faster.

Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\TreeOfSavior\release

Open up your user.xml file and adjust the resolution from there. You’ll have to update it when there’s a patch, but you should be able to customize your resolution.

I also suggest, if you’re willing to give up alt+tab, setting resolution mode to 0. It should boost your FPS a bit as well.
