That is stereotyping classes.
Katar is a arabic/indian weapon, used by raiders and marauders as well as assassins.
It should be a warrior in general weapon, not just a single class weapon.
Should be like in D&D, you are free to use any weapon you want, as long as you are trained for it.

For in the Ragnarok Mercenary used Katar, sword or dagger.
