Lots of chinese players are buying silver

I can buy a Collectable from a store, E.G: a collectable card for a popular trading card game for 40$, or from a person in the same store for 20$. one is cheaper, but one is also going to get you banned from the store. just because you CAN do something doesnt make it okay. Buying silver from 3rd party sources is by all means an ‘illicit and illegal’ activity for, not just ToS, but most mmorpgs around.

I’m not saying its OK or encouraging it… I’m saying I can see why sombody would do it

This game also makes silver too important to have… like you can make your character twice as strong if you have alot of silver

Not everyone doesn’t have sex with tonnes of women and sail on expensive yachts because they don’t have money, some people actually REALLY enjoy videogames, and they aren’t something to fill the void of feeling you have no life.

Well if sombody can get like 100k silver by farming in game for an hour

Or they can work min wage and get 8$ and buy 800k or whatever

Its better use of their time
then we question why are they playing in the first place
Then they tell us to shut up and let them do what they want with their money

You guys realize IMC fully encourages RMTs right? That is the entire point of the token system. It creates an item that allows players to buy silver as long as its through IMC and not some 3rd party company.

I actually wanted to buy gold from others but I just dont trust them and feel bad for damaging the game’s economy system.

Take myself as an example, im just a normal fresh uni grad working full time but have no time to play(well actually yes, 1 hour a day) sometime i want to be ‘good’ in the game so there is my motivation to buy gold.

Your statement about chinese just making people uncomfortable. I believe you’ve been staying with the wrong group of people, i suggest you spend more time in working or studying, and meet some diligent chinese, instead of whinging life is unfair on a game forum…

Yes and no… it’s RMT but it’s not really in the same category. The reason why gold sellers are bad is that they ruin the game. Since they’re going to sell gold anyway, it makes sense for IMC to at least give people a legit way of buying gold so they don’t ruin the game. Tokens don’t create any more silver in the game, it just gets shifted around. Win win.

Unfortunately, atm, there’s no way to get more TP to buy and sell tokens.

I am So lost

Those Gold sellers are real? haha i always thought it was a scam
I dont have the money to do that, but ya it is kinda unfair…

Just search AH and sort highest price. You see all the cheap stuff selling for hundreds of thousand or a million per unit. :stuck_out_tongue:

Buying silver is definitely bad, but saying that it isn’t fair just because you can’t afford to do the same thing is like saying it’s not fair that they were born into rich families.

Cool story! I’ve bought every DLC, and a 30$ for my friend. I would NEVER purchase anything from some crappy website. But I am also 35 and not 17.
yeah gotta approach this from the viewpoint of the future of the game AND community.
Back then when I was playing this game called Nexia, when it went p2p, the friends I’ve made started selling in game items and characters just so they can afford to play further.
Sad, but that’s reality.

Now gold sellers are something else. They exploit the system, do illegal activities, and pretty much stealing money from developers and players. And this is not even talking about the likelihood your account gets hacked by them.

That’s why I don’t look down on ebay trades of those $$ in game items in other games, but I was also too naive to believe that noone in their right mind would perform transactions with gold sellers.

And I do understand the appeal though. I’m 177 and only have 300k (bleh just learned some r6 attribs). Could use a few million more silvers to gear myself up and learn more attribs, and my gacha luck sucks, but I will not turn to gold sellers even if it is the last option.

Yes, it isn’t fair but reasons why buying currency will always be combated on a half heart basis is as such.

Those rich currency buyers will be contributing through purchasing game DLCs and credits such as package and TPs at a insane rate, thus, increasing the profit for the company. Without the option to buy and sell currency in game due to their culture as you have mentioned, they would most probably quit. Considering how the Chinese market one of the largest population base in the world, giving up on that pie would be really hard.

On top of that, if currency selling and buying becomes hard, the one who supplies will also leave and thus another major dip in population again. Also, it will affect the supply of stuff. Why do you think Arde Daggers are cheaper now? Yeah thanks to our dear bot friends.

Good and Bad i’d say.

Also it is just cultuer based most games from over seas are p2w based you put in money you gain power. So that translates into rmts here due to no real p2w. Also when your economy is being controled by thoses max lv teams camping world bosses all day you kinda get to a point where it breeds the need to rmt for some.

Bots are a god send in ff14 makes crafting doable with how stupidly cheap and over farm some mats are. You know all thoses cheap mats you by on the ah to feed gems that is the bots too.
