Lost lamb in need of a Shepherd [Chaplain topic]

I think it is. I did it after it came out and it was awful because the pre-advancement quests to unlock the Miko Master are super annoying and a lot of people were doing them… But it’s probably much better now~
I have a Diev 3-Miko, and for my build it’s worth it. Broom will be nice for any build, Hamaya has really great damages, Gohei is of course good (mostly since it debuffs enemies… Goodbye, shields and other buffs <3), I’m not going to take Kagura Dance so I can’t speak much about it. But it should be worth it if you party with people.
But it’s not like it has any particular synergy with Krivis or Taoist, so you can also pick PD (for bloodletting) or something else instead.
Although Broom + Divine Might is a +2 levels for all your skills.

You’ll get the Kannushi costume, don’t worry. I know a couple of people who switched genders to become a Miko and they’re a cool Kannushi with the Kannu costume once they switched back.
Just keep in mind that it’s expensive since you have to switch twice (so I’d advise to create a female character so you only have to switch gender once).

I don’t know if the developers thought the same thing as me but in general you might notice that Exorcise has 15 seconds duration with attribute. So, if you cast Exorcise first, wait a few seconds (11-13) and cast Magnus Exorcismus afterwards, the CD time will be already down to 25 seconds or below.
So when ME CD time is down to about ~35 seconds, you could cast another Exorcise and you could directly cast the next ME after casting the next Exorcise after that.

Basically: Cast Exorcise>wait ~13 seconds>Cast ME>wait ~23 seconds> Cast Exorcise>wait 36 seconds>Cast Exorcise>you can directly cast ME after this or repeat the process from step 1.

It works better when combined with Dievs Laima buff, though. ME CD will be 48 seconds while Exorcise will become ~29 seconds.
This means you could: cast Exorcise> wait 13 seconds [Exorcise CD will become ~16 seconds]>Cast ME>Wait 16 seconds(until ME is over)>cast Exorcise again>then you have to wait 29 seconds because ME still isn’t off CD yet[meaning 14 seconds without damage from Exorcise or ME].

An interesting build for INT/SPR Chaplain would really be C3>P3>Chaplain>Miko [not advancing in this order, though], going Diev at Rank 9, or C2>Diev1>P3>Chap>Miko going C3 at Rank 9 and Diev C2>C3 at Rank 10 and 11. The damageoutput shouldn’t be that bad with all the support skills combined + AoE damage via Exorcise,ME,Hamaya,Cure and Heal. Also, Stone Skin allows you to dual wield[Mace+Dagger] and still block attacks, increasing your damageoutput.

Maybe I’ll try that one after I leveled my other toons for Aukuras/Daino and Monstrance/Barrier scrolls and got my Kabbalist to 330 xD…

The problem is that Exorcise will disappear due to mobs stepping on it so you wouldn’t be able to cast ME unless you put down Exorcise and then start pulling mobs.
You pretty much want to cast Exorcise and ME right after each other.

Exorcise only vanishes when a certain number of mobs has entered the AoE. The skill was already changed last year (end of October if I’m correct on ITOS or KTOS?) to have afaik a limit of skilllevel number of monsters that can enter the AoE without the skill vanishing.
So, if you manage to get your hands on Attila somehow, that’s up to 5+1+2= 8 monsters that can be collected for Exorcise without it vanishing (otherwise it’s only 6 with Divine Might…).

But yeah, basically Magnus Exorcismus is still just an extension of Exorcise duration as the skills damage and lasting time is ± identical to the value of Exorcise…
I hope IMC will increase the base damage to 2k (two times the CD time of Hamaya seems to be fair enough to bring two times the base damage of Hamaya as well, especially since ME has a shorter duration) or even 200%+x so that it actually deals damage.

The supporter builds aren’t unpopular because of the buff limit but because the few damaging skills are really bad at dealing damage (Priest, Chaplain, Kabbalist are all very bad at dealing damage because of abnormally high CD times and low damage scaling of their few damage skills…), which makes it hard to play them.

I level/keep my Kabbalist strong because Heal and Cure are dealing enormous damage at level 15, but the other skills are bad (Merkabah, Possession, Out of Body, Astral Body explosion) at dealing with enemies and their damage output is at best equal to Heal&Cure while being so many Ranks higher…

Btw, back on topic:

We don’t even know if Sheperd will become a playable class in TOS.
It could be that the class is exclusive to TOS mobile[as it’s included in TOS mobile afaik, similar to Fortune Teller e.g.], as the same thing has already happened once before with Ragnarok Online where there was information for upcoming Shaman and Death Knight classes, which were later revealed to be exclusive for the Nintendo DS game…

Since we know Kim Hakkyu is the “father” of RO and worked for Gravity a long time, the same might happen again here, so I’d not put too much hope into getting to see Sheperd…
