Looking back at it. Wasn't it just better for international players that ToS launched early in Korea?

I mean, the poor KR players will suffer from the bugs and imbalance here and there but looking at it from an international player’s perspective; by the time our version is out, most of the kinks (hopefully) will have been ironed out.

Not sure where Japan is atm in CBTschedule but I assume the case is the same for them as well.

Looking at what is going on, I would not be that optimistic. The max level circles and maps are still far from being released.

There are lots of bugs, awful terrain glitches all over orsha maps, rebalancing is being done every week. iTOs will probably be released much earlier than lvl 500 content, we will also have plenty of bugs and the nerf hammer will be hitting strong for some classes… What is even worse, we may be behind on updates in comparison with Ktos (but I still hope we won’t cause it sucks to play ‘in the past’)

I personally have the same idea with OP.

Korean server is basically a guinea pig. IMC can screw Korean all over by trying all kind of different changes and policies.
But in the end, if someone from international complains and give feedbacks regarding the madness in Korean server, IMC will know that their ideas won’t work in international.

Except int players already had a chance to suffer from it.

Suffering from it in betas doesn’t count.

I am optimistic not because of the bugs being fixed, but instead because of the reactions we’ve been showing as a community to decisions made in kToS, such as its monetization model, cash shop prices, etc. so IMC will have some guess at what we do really want as a community.

I think the game needed more time to mature, it still feels A LOT like a beta with odd bugs and broken abilities and shaky microtransaction installment.

That being said the game also desperately needs to come out, people won’t wait for ToS forever and I fear many westerners are already playing on Korean servers and I do suspect that many will burn out their desire to play once international hits.

Also, I can honestly say the missing circles aren’t really an issue. Most people won’t even hit rank 7, ever. Those that do can still max out their collections, farm gear etc and PvP. After that they can start new characters.

Quite frankly, the game doesn’t need more ranks atm.

Everyone is suffering in betas.

I just wish they were focusing on the bugs rather than new content. I mean, why keep adding tons of classes when the current ones need heavy revisions?

I’m almost sure we still will see exploitable stuff on our version. :pensive:

In the kOBT discussion thread many have mentioned how it would make more sense to get all the classes put in before doing any serious balancing.

the only reason nexon launched is because contrary to ubisoft and EA, they have enough dignity to not take your money inside a beta state :expressionless:

I want to start off by adding something to the class content discussion. I remember reading from the dev blog that they considered releasing the game with rank 8 as the final and making 20 classes hidden. As a content update that would seem very fitting to the current state of the game, I could assume that they are dropping hidden classes one by one while working on the update to get the game to rank 8 and add more late game content with a level cap increase.
I’m not saying they are doing this, however I think it would be good to release all the planned classes, they did make a promise of 80 classes and I’m sure they are going to keep it. They also mentioned that they could possibly add more classes in the future but this wouldn’t happen until the game would be in a good state.
I would personally enjoy that direction since it would be less work for them and I believe that would leave them more time to work on bugs and balancing as fast as possible and they could definitely take all the time they need for future updates. Also with hidden classes they could give more balance to the game at lower ranks by giving more synergy to some options and open up new paths and work as possible contenders to some of the strongest classes the game currently has.

Answer to the actual topic I don’t see how the game releasing early or not in korea would really affect us. It’s imc’s decision whether they will release the international version early or in a more completed state.

Our forum got some new sections, is this a sign?

it’s a sign of care and somewhat a motivation…

but it doesn’t tell anything other than “We are here alive on the road…”

@STAFF_John BARAKAMON :slight_smile:

new sections is great. Next step is to manually move all the Guild threads in Community to the Guild section

Or just let us make a new thread because our old threads are outdated and we can’t edit it anymore. After that, forum moderator can lock those threads.

In the current state you cant consider the game has a valid released version.
The Korean version is just a beta in disguise, and an excuse to make money out of it.

Errrr… So the kOBT is a hidden Beta?

No, seriously. Tell me, where is this disguise?

He meant, that it’s more in a alpha state.

xD

People dont know ■■■■.

Alpha> first steps to a game. Getting code to work, adding foundations.
Closed Beta> Rough playable version, buggy, missing lots of stuff. About 80% of newly realesed mmorpgs, where still in a beta state. Premature realese… cause CEO said “MONEY BITCHES!” MOINNNEEEYYY!". (Here nexon pounded on their legal claims of they’re contract mos tlikely. Not imc fault that it “realesed” so fast.)
Open Beta> Most times games are about ready to be presentable to the public now. Stuff is still kinky and rough, but you’re not expecting to make crazy shits happen every day.
Realesed>Game is in a state where it’s enjoyable to play. Now there will still be stuff added, patched and balanced. Hopefully you dind’t run off a hill for fast catch … and missed out on your foundation.

This is about how it works.#

Atm Korean ToS is about the level of Closed Beta, tagged as realesed ( so they can legaly claim money, without wiping progress and fearing legal issues~ If they didn’t state it somewhere…).

NO point in arguing xD. It’s good that nexon pushed… now IMC got lots of stuff to fix and lots of stuff to balance.
Hopefully they will learn for int realese…

uncooked beef is still uncooked, but if you serve it and eat it…

it’s called food :\

I never said I agree with removing the beta label so early… but calling it open beta, charge money and put cash shop with macrotransactios is a scumbag and more dirty move.

@drake_tempestos KOBT is no more… it’s KToS now… some people just use KOBT still… for some reason
