Logic & Questions

Going to start off by saying that I really dislike the way they’re doing the Early Access. A Founders Beta is a decent idea, but that’s only when it is done right. This however was executed poorly by giving Founders a 3 month head start, switching the info on us at the last minute, and then not even providing enough info on what you’re offering.

But, it’s not all bad news:

  • A good amount of people will still buy the Founders pack just to simply play/support the game, which in turn will hopefully help IMC’s financial situation so that they don’t have to make a drastic last-minute decision to the games income plans in the near future.

  • For those of you upset about players getting a 3-month head start on you, you’ll be happy to learn that hitting the current level cap (280) is possible in under 2 months without needing to play hardcore.
Also note that there will be new servers on F2P launch anyway, so the only reason to really be upset is the misinformation we were given. They could have said “Thanks for the wait guys, we’ve got a date for the game now! It’s set to launch in June.”, and most of this “■■■■ IMC” talk wouldn’t exist.

Well, now for the questions:

  1. What will happen to the Founders players in June?
  • $50 for a 3-month early-access period sounds like a deal! If I actually got to continue having fun with my character when the game hits F2P. Let’s be real, there’s going to be another server(s) opened when the game opens completely in June, and they are not going to choose the Founders server over a fresh-start one (Especially not all my forum buddies). From a CBT-player perspective, $50 to play on a server that’s almost guaranteed to literally be dead in July, is a waste of money and a waste of time.

  • If we get a free server transfer of one character, with all Silver removed from the account to prevent economy manipulation, then this is actually really worth it. Otherwise, nu.

  1. This “Founder” server is only one server right? So how does this benefit players from other continents?
  • With #1 in mind, people outside of the US-located server will be paying for an non-optimal experience in both population and gameplay. It’s pretty obvious where the server will be placed, but it would’ve been a good idea to lay this info out ahead of time to those who might be unaware, so their probably-non-refundable payment doesn’t go to waste.
  1. Was it worth it?
  • This obviously comes across as a rushed decision. You need money of course, but did you really need it so bad that it was worth damaging your company reputation for? Your hard-working Developers, Artists, and Github translators risk seeing their effort gone to waste, thanks to whoever was in charge of putting together this messy “Early Access” idea. Hopefully this is a lesson-learned for any future games you may put out. We want to see the games we love succeed just as much as you do.

@STAFF_John Would be nice to have #1 answered on if Founder characters will be eligible for transfer or not, so that people have a better idea of what they’re getting into before they buy. Also hopefully have it placed on the main website, since people are probably going to be flagging your posts for the rest of the Month.

Are we aslo having the 198tp token? so the 50$ is more like paying the 3month in advance premium? lol

I’m going to nitpick at this one. How is this -not- a bad thing? That means players who get to max level will run out of content to do because of the low population. That is even assuming they get there to begin with. Don’t get me wrong; it doesn’t take long to catch up but you are still heavily splitting your player base which is a very bad thing.

Shorten the time frame for Early Access buyers and the problem is solved. Three months is just simply too long. I do agree on the miscommunication part though. Heavily.

Doesnt seem to be a good deal tbh, maybe if it were 30-35 it would.

I understand making a game takes work and well its a business after all and they deserve to get money one way or the other. But this is not the way to do it. The huge amount of poeple that are waiting for the game is ridiculous and they decided to hit those people… not cool

It’s not a bad thing for those who aren’t buying the Founders pack. The people who are, (mostly) know what they’re getting into by now. It’s a “You dug your own grave” thing. The split won’t matter much to the point of high concern, since the amount of people who will wait until June still greatly outnumbers the amount who are going in before then.

Yup, but, if they’re going to do this, they’re going to have to do it fast. You can’t offer someone $50 for a 3-month early access, and then shorten it to 1-month afterwards.

This is true. Still leaves a very sour taste in my mouth to have the community get split.

This one may not actually happen under that principle. Sucks but it’s the truth.
