List of 137 gold seller accounts

http://www.mememaker.net/static/images/memes/4476395.jpg

updated the list from 63 to the new 137 gold seller accounts, these
are all hand picked and put on my block list after they made their
advertising shouts in the chat.

this will probably be my last update unless IMC wants me to keep
doing this or wants me to contact them directly with names. these are
most likely 90% of all the gold seller activity on klaipeda

I hope you have proves about your claims other than names…

:unamused:

and send the info to support too…

no, ive simply put every single silver selling message poster on the blocklist and posted it here so i have no proof. if the names alone doesnt give them away yet imc can always check back their chat behavior.

if I say your name on a court and call you a thief… will the they arrest you for?_?

is best to have the posts as evidence

still, it will be easy to get proves, gold sellers cant stop… so they will keep posting lol :smirk:

PD: I see a patter on the names… they aren’t more than 4 players maybe less

you realize, there are several problems regarding the usefulness of this list.

1; none of those names will be attached to an account that is ACTUALLY selling the silver. that would make it too easy to find them.

2; none of these names will last more than a few hours. they mash the keyboard to make a name, login, spam for a while, logout and delete the character to prevent it from being traced as easily.

3; like @DrRM said, and in spite of my previous comments, send the info to support. posting it here does nothing. we aren’t GM’s or Devs, or company reps, etc. there’s nothing we can do about it. staff members don’t have time to carefully monitor each and every thread on the forums when hundreds or thousands are created every day.

i mean i wish we could do more, but the spammers are just noise-boxes, like a commercial or magazine ad.

the names are team names, you cant delete them bro.

The name when you add friend, guild, party members, block list are always team name, which is the same as the whole account name, unless they pay TP to change it
This is early access so, even if is not their real account they still lose money if we ban them, so it’s probaly effective, I dunno about the future though

lol my bad. yea, i forgot about the persistent team names. not used to that mechanic yet. (i like it tho. kinda like a family built in)

but, point 1 still stands. those accounts probably won’t have any significant silver on them, especially with team names being more easily traceable.

and point 3; even if they -aren’t- the accounts with the silver, i’d still love some peace and quiet from them. each account banned costs them 10 bucks; enough bans, and it’s not worth continuing. i mean they -are- a business after all, they’re not going to keep throwing money at it if it’s just being wasted.

it would be a really interesting experiment to see what it takes to truly kill off the bots in a game. i wonder if it’s possible these days, without a game engine that was pretty much built ground up to do it. i mean, it’d never be perfect. new bot programs would be introduced and would have to be caught and analyzed, and individuals botting for personal use would (probably) be harder to catch than gold-sellers. it seems like a name-scanner might be a really quick start, but any programmer will quickly ask “how does it know gibberish from a name that’s just very unusual”…
it’d certainly be an expensive and time-consuming operation anyway, as well as need to be permanent. it’s not like getting rid of one wave of them is going to stop them from sending another.

“But if it’s true then”…:grinning:

Time to fetch your pitchfork boys we’re gonna have some BBQ ! :grinning:

problem number 1 is a list like that is worth zero. nada. nothing.

You could add random name to the list for all we know. Any company with a brain will never trust a list like this.

Even screenshot are easily manipulated nowadays and one could switch the name of a goldseller to someone they hate for whatever reason.

The only realistic way to ban goldseller is have GMs in-game doing their jobs.

Not us players sending them proof that can easily be false and them having to verify each information…

did you see the names on the list? noone would ever create a teamname like that other than gold sellers. any company with a brain would at the very least look at their chat activity.

edit: i even made sure not to blocklist anyone else, not even the dude that keeps spamming his discord channel. only gold selling ads

Don’t get me wrong here, never have I doubted the fact that you only included Gold Seller.

But the reality is that such a list cannot be used.

Sadly, banning peoples is not so simple as it sounds. Otherwise you risk a huge fiasco.

There is a process used by most modern online industry when it come to banning offenders for online abuse; the process is divided in four segments, identifying, asserting, proofing and than finally condemning.

That list you made, is part of the identifying process. But sadly, they need to assert that every name on this list is conducting illegal activity and than have to accumulate proof, to finally ban.

There is a legal reason behind all these steps.

False Positive is the worst nightmare of every online company because the last thing they want is to ban a legit person due to a mistake.

Having GM’s in-game working to ban Gold-Seller is not only a hundred time faster but also is way more cost efficiently for them than having to go through list of peoples.

Then again giving too much power to GM can cause unintended results.

So no real perfect solutions, sadly.

Hello Savior! Thank you so much for providing such details and for bringing the matter to our attention. It would be better if you can provide screenshots as evidence for the bot player you encountered so it can help us in further investigating the issue.

@GM_Francis:
BTW, if i report silver-selling spammers via report button or tickets, may i get RII points(https://treeofsavior.com/news/?n=377)?

I have reported some of those multiple times. Glad they’re gone.

i would but taking screenshots was simply too much work considering when i posted this, none of the anti-bot counter measures were in place yet. (no report function and level requirements on world chat) so it was a spammy mess when i put these all on my block list. some days i blocked over 50 users, if i had to screenshot every single one of them and upload those screenshots i would be doing a daily job rather than playing the game :stuck_out_tongue:

If i happen to come across any more bots in the future however i’ll screenshot their behavior.

does he REALLY need “proof”, take a good look in they damn nicks!

he does, look at my name… is DrRM and my team name in orsha is RMF <am I a bot?_? NO!

sure this ones might look obvious, but it won’t always be the case and with sooo many letter combinations someone can come up with…

well! let’s say the bigger the evidence mountain the fastest the bot get squash…
