Linker+Thaumaturge or Linker+Chronomancer

From a party perspective which one would be better linker c2 thauma c3 or linker c2 chronomancer c3?

I don’t know very much about wizard or suport classes, but in my opinion linker c2 -> chronomancer c3 is even better for lategame than thauma c3… thauma C3 have good skills like transpose, reversi and swell body, but 3 of his other skills only give flat bonus…

so, thauma is good too, but… aaargh, chronogodmancer C3 have a stronger kit for PvE (and maybe GvG too?) from a party perspective because of skills like quicken, haste, pass, stop, etc… and if i’m correct, linker c2 -> chrono C3 is more popular than linker c2 - > thauma c3 in Korean ToS

Maeda is correct. In the state of the game right now Chronomancer is the best choice without much contest.

But here is technicality if you want to get into the meat and bones. And this includes some look at potential game shifts. And a bit of each sides arguments.

  • Swell brain’s potential for scaling
Swell brain is deceptively stronger then people make it out to be. At the later levels on high Int builds that thing is going to give more then what it says because of how buffs on high stats scale. There maybe more break points later on post Lv280 but right now the highest we know of is 500 points which is where stats are worth double and that’s not really easily obtainable at 280. You can get into the mid-upper 400s right now by being heavily invested in Int. Keep in mind stats from gear are flat never multiply or have an effect on stat multipliers. So the only way swell brain is getting better is from people using high Int builds and getting higher level. But as of right now the best you can hope for is 290 matk.

  • Why chrono is only going to get better
Every chrono skill is still going to be effective down the line. With the argument being maybe only that there will be more skill use post Lv280 so the quicken attack buff wont be as strong. That said the pass skill is only going to get better and better as the game goes on as we have more good skills with cooldowns! Better yet for this arguement is Dievdirby is becoming more popular because of all it’s buffs and the new end game content. So expect the CD statue which means stacking CD removal which has even more potential for awesome.

  • Why linker isn’t top dog at hardest dungeon right now
The linker issue right now is that it’s not the top dog for dealing with end game content for AoE Ratio. Falchoner has a skill called Circling which is infinitely better for dealing with large packs (may get nerfed). It completely removes AoE Def ratio from the game letting your AoEs become true AoEs and to add insult to injury it only takes one Rank of Falchoner to get access to it. And when the end game content right now is go fight 150 mobs in a small room. It blows linker out of the water. Here is a demonstration of Circling + a self Dmg-propagating AoE Punji Stake: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7UaM9VBVfzc

So in closing. Linker is amazing for everything outside of the big kill rooms in the end game dungeon. And if circling ever gets nerfed, which it probably will. Linker will maintain a place in the end game. That said even without it comparing to circling. It still has those great elemental damage attributes on Joint penalty and the buff share is also always going to be good if you’re doing LinkC2.
