Hi,

I would like to point out that every single LGBT nomination is censored right now
I do know that old school (read stupid) straight people use it as a offensive
name, but please… 21th century, I can’t say that I’m gay cuz is censored, I can’t say that I’m lesbian cuz is censored, christ I can’t say im homossexual cuz is censored
This censoring lgbt words is a fail attempt to prevent offensive lenguague, cuz the censoring itself is offensive. GAY and LESBIAN are not “bad lenguage” it can (and is) be seen as dicrimination.

I really hope the GMs check this thread.

Just complaining why these 2 words are mixed up as bad lenguage
people can believe what they want, I’m not here to open anyone’s eyes,

I can see using the G word or the H word as offensive but I don’t think people use Lesbian or transsexual or bisexual. It kind of reminds me of the don’t ask, don’t tell policy as a excuse they are censoring words that aren’t really being used as an insult.

The word list really needs to be fixed. There are too many unoffensive words in it that are just creating major communication problems for people.

As a bonus, it would be nice if the filtered word list was stored locally so we could edit/remove it as we see fit.

Honestly, there are so many words that can be used in a offensive way
it all boils down to the intention and moment of how they are used
So it makes really no sense to block these words, if anything it just makes a fuss out of it

The same thing could be said about the F word. I would rather see server improvement, updates, and various other in game features fixed before things like this. It’s not that important to be honest.

It’s not an issue that affects game play, thus, fix breaking bugs and implement awesome features before worrying about chat. I’ve gotten to where I am in the game without talking to anybody. It’s not a requirement or a prerequisite.

If you really wanted to argue this point and have people care and listen, look at the NPC’s and then be angry that you can’t tell your friend what NPC to look for because there’s 3 or 4 letters in the NPC’s name that force it to be censored.

Well, player-player interaction is the most basic feature in a massive multiplayer game… it is the reason why many friends play together, meet new people, make friendship and so on, it may not be the way you’d rather play, but it still an important part to many other players, comunication included. Again, it is not vital, but it also does not stop the vital features as you mentioned such as gameplay, fixing bugs etc. to happen
I am not asking priority here, but please do not make comments to diminish this cause, it may not look important to you, but maybe it isn’t because it doesn’t concern or affect you.

As I said before, I just want some staff members to check out this statement since It wasn’t said by anyone so far, and it is something worth saying.

Yas mama, i couldn’t agree more.
Though some people might use it an offensive way, their loss, they are the one being homophobic and the ones that should be reported.
IMC, putting words that define who your players are as offensive words is childish and negligent. Fix this ASAP and improve (or create) a report system.

If “gay” and “lesbian” are censored because of concerns of sexuality conversations, then we must also censor “straight”

I am in favor of these terms being uncensored, but it would be hilarious if they went the other route

A lot of games have an option to turn the chat censor off. I haven’t played this game for very long so I can’t find it. Or does it not have one?

The censorship system is actually one of the most annoying things in this game. “Escort” is censored, “panties” (lmao what the game gives you panty shots at every turn), and other really pointless terms.

lgbt stuff should be uncensored. it’s really ineffective as an insult anyways versus other things that can be said ingame, uncensored. A culture barrier isn’t really an excuse when they censored alaskan pipeline of all things.

Also, it’s incredibly easy to decensor things. If you don’t care, that’s fine, but if someone else would rather have it decensored it’s a plus for all of us, isn’t it? less chance of having your block of text completely deleted for some accidental phrase.

I need to write in french correctly in game, but this stupid censoring is blocking many words. We need a function to desactivate this feature !

I just wish there was a way to disable the censor (although I agree gay and lesbian shouldn’t be censored). I never liked censors in games, because it doesn’t actually achieve anything. It’s kinda dumb that the word “class” is sensored because it has the word “ass” in it. We have to say “clas” instead when talking to people and it makes us all look like retards.
