Leveling your hawk as a falconer

So your quarrel shooter hits level 180 and changes into a falconer… and you get a level 1 hawk. You try to level up in level 180 fields… and your hawk gets no xp. You try to level up in level 1 fields… and you get no xp, meaning your hawk also doesn’t get xp.

The only thing I’ve found to give xp to the hawk is through the instanced dungeons. Seems to work well (albeit slowly), and I think you just need to be able to reach level 60 that way so you and your hawk start getting xp on level 120 fields. Is there a better way to level up your hawk as new falconer?

Your pets gain exp when you get exp, so just go through ordinary leveling, and your pet will eventually pick up experience as well.

What’s funny is that falcon actually levels up faster than you. My falconer is 349, yet my falcon is 350…

Nevermind… I must have hit some kind of bug. I went to Donnes to see if I would get xp for the hawk with his missions, he asked me to kill 56 blue gravegolems so I went to Istoria Ruins and each kill was giving the hawk a level up. He instantly leveled up to 73. Now I get xp everywhere…
