Now i can enter here, i m a main Tank, and on my velcoffer runs, i can hold aggro like 95% of the time. And i can tell you one thing, if you dont have a weapon and shield you will hold only 8s every 30s with your provocation.
After i did some tests, the aggro system works this way:
-
There is a table for Provocation Points(that’s how i called it, short PP) on every mob.
-
Every mob will target mostly the player with most PP, some new bosses can target like random players, the second player with most PP and the farthest player[hello Velcoffer].
-
To get PP you will need to damage the mob and the formula is kinda this: Damage*(100%+Provocation_buffer_A+Provocation_Buffer_B+etc).
-
There is a Rule that PP don’t expire or decrease linearly . That’s a thing they could change.
-
Also when you use provocation skills you will generate like 1PP and hold aggro for a set amount of time but it will let the mob with imunity for 30s.
and thats about all i know about the actual aggro system.
Sword man has a attribute that act as 500% Provocation Buffer. and peltasta when you use provoke you will have more 10000% Provocation buffer for all physical damage done by any peltasta skill. A total of 10600%*Damage for every peltasta skill.
Now, after some math as you can see if you can reach about 1% dps of the top dps present using only peltasta skills i can tell for sure, you will hold aggro.
I hope this helped some ppl that wanted to know why provoke dont “aggro forever”.
