i got almost the exact class build
but i went sw3 and not p1
i was also thinking pvp when i made the decision to go hop3 and cor1
hop3 for the lvl15 finestra and syncho thrusting…also for unlocking the spear mastery which adds 20% damage to all your skill when attacking a medium target(not sure if players are medium size tho),finestra not only gives crt but also block which is really useful now since most of the pvp builds nowadays doesnt involve having high dex(block penetration)
but i also considered getting shinobi and instead of cor1…with shinobi u get stealth…and honestly i would have taken shinobi if the quest wasnt really hard and long to do
I also gave up shinobi because of the quest and I want to be the starting tank. I thought about hop3 just like you. I wanted to know more opinions. Is it worth just quitting pelt1? I find it interesting at least pve and party.
IIRC pelt has this attribute that improves block and the def increase from guardian, also the hp buff from swashbuckling is pretty nice too so i guess it isnt that bad, especially you said u wanted to be a tank
i already got a rank 8 swordsman during the reset event so i didnt really thought of pve/parties when i was thinking of what classes to take
I want pvp murm. wanted to make sw3> >corsair1>shino>murm . And i need help with classes where is a space . Dunno about pelta. Is he useful for pvp? Maybe rodelero? And hop is more pve class. No?
Hop good for PVP too. Lunge + Synchro is stronk.

I am Sword3-Hoplite3-Corsair1-Murmillo build. I call it the Hoplomachus (it’s basically a Murmillo but with spear and round shield ). It is my first rank8 character and I am, thus far, very satisfied. Synchro Thrusting does amazing damage, a countered Synchro could very well 1-shot an opponent. Not many people see the potential of Synchro and I suspect we might see this build grow in popularity in the future once they get wind of it.
Pelt1 is an incredible waste of a rank. It does not contribute anything in a boss fight, it does not contribute anything in PVP. You already have a fast knockdown CC in Bash. Corsair’s Jolly Roger acts like a pseudo-Swashbuckling with the added benefit of Fever.
I recently started doing TBL with this character, though I’ve won a couple rounds, I still need more practice. I get a little panicky and choke. It seems like a promising build though and I hope to get good like ZeroFox!

I kinda regretted a bit about still picking up Pel1 over Hop3 but I guess I can only truly weigh that decision when I get better gear (still at lv.170 Nyx ). I’m yet to see how impactful Guardian and Shield Block Mastery attribute’s scaling is by then. I’m also still not sure how I can fit Rim Blow in the rotation since it has a nice fast animation but unfortunately does nothing else besides damage - maybe I’ll just forget it and max Umbo (right now I’ve been only using it as backup to Bash). It’s also shitty how they added 3s CD on Shield Guard for TBL.
I’m also still not over about them changing Spear Throw to 5 overheats. It used to be my main PVE skill and the sole reason why I used to be content with carrying my upgraded-out-of-luck +16 Geras. They didn’t even bother improving the animation, even if just based on DEX.
I second that Sword3 Hop3 Sair1 Murm1 is the most optimal and well-arounded SpearMurm build for both PVP and PVE purposes.
have you tried if long stride could knock players off safety zone?
It always has been able to. Pretty handy skill to deal with Clerics.
